Honestly when I first played it back when I was new to Touhou it gave me emotional damage because I found it too hard. But I came back later, got a lunatic 1cc and yeah it is pretty fun, there’s quite a lot of strategy when it comes to freezing the bullets and yes I always play it on Cirno day ahahahah. The game’s also got this strange nostalgic feel to it, I can’t quite explain it though

Hey, don't know if you already knew this, but if you just want to unlock the Extra, you can do an easy 1cc and it will count towards unlocking Extra stage. That's what I did for the two other shot types after I did a successful normal 1cc.

@pandakekok Yeah, I knew. I know I'm capable of clearing it on normal, so I pushed myself to do all the shot types on normal 1CCs. Another alternative for unlocking extra is to download a score file from Moriya Shrine for the associated game. Thanks for the info, though. I think it's important to leave breadcrumbs like this for future people to find.

My favorite is UM, but I don't really like grinding for cards. I like using them to make the game easier! It's the first SHMUP I 1CC'd. After that, I like SA, because sometimes punching A wall is fun (it's like playing Summer Carnival '92: RECCA), it has great bullet patterns, and Satori is pretty cool. Also, Utsuho has my favorite Touhou character design. Also the Fairy Wars game is pretty good. Freezing things is cool, and it has Sunny Milk. It somewhat reminds me of Ikaruga, but it's easier to wrap my head around Fairy War's mechanics and level design.

TD is my first Hard 1cc and the game is genuinely good demanding significant memorization and planning even compared to most other touhou games, making the gameplay more interesting than "just dodge". the stage enemies are also almost always a threat from stage 1 to 6 unlike most other touhou games which have many zzz sections outside of bosses. Also Youmu playable
