Great video! I look at Reiko as a tactical player. In my opinion, not every character has to be combo heavy and be considered boring. It's just a different playstyle. I love seeing other players play him at a high level. It's all relative.

I like experimenting with Reiko, everyone pairs him with Darius from what I've seen, but he gets great meterless damage with Jax fr. I have a bread n butter meterless 35% from almost any hit and you can get easy 40% if you can hit in the corner, on top of having Jax as a great setup to open peeps up

Got to respect a lot of shit, watch out for his teleport, his yeee to get out of the corner, his armored yeee on wake-up, then he does a meterless combo with sareena or cyrax or whatever he is using.....and he finally fucks up, I whiff punish and he breaks cause he didn't use 1 bar on his combo......then through out the match the occasional tea-bags 😭

I’m a reiko main and I love how boring he is. I was intermediate at mk11 for the whole life cycle (Demi god peak) I said reiko was perfect to learn this game because combos would be easy. That plus strike Throw mix and my fundamentals carry me against most people.

I was a Kotal Khan main in MK11, Cyrax in X and Sub/Cyrax in 9. I'm obviously a Rain main in MK1. I want to preface this with i think he is very good probably A Tier in this early meta but has clear weaknesses that i feel most are not aware of because of lack of matchup experience and lack of labbing him, there are not a lot of Rain Loyalists currently. Definitely more to be discovered but feel he will be dropping a bit after people learn the matchup which is normal for most characters. He doesn't have neutral moves, only his Down 3 reaches but is -13 on block and his sweep knocks them down. Most characters get a button for that range. His overhead overhead is 28 frames of startup, it does have a throw cancel at 10 frames but it's stubby. I use Stryker Kameo combined with water beam cancels (feel free to look at my channel to see the combos and cancel pressure) Very heavy input, pretty hard to learn. Stryker grenades covers most of his issues, i can throw out grenades to steal turns, make stuff safe, extend combo damage, cover gaps, stop opponents from abusing farther reach in footsies. I've been saying Rain was damn near top tier (A to A+) since day 4 after official release. I just don't want him to be considered S Tier or broken. Nothing he has is broke and i can prove it. On my channel i show you how to punish the Rain/SubZero "Unblockable Vortex Setups" where ye freezes with sub, uses charged water beam into ground toilet into his double overhead. You simply delay wake-up into UpBlock to punish the second overhead. I honestly hope they don't nerf the characters and if they Nerf Cyrax plz don't mess with his functionality, change the regen of the meter or reduce chip, i understand he is very strong Kameo but Nerfing characters/kameos functionality will start the waterfall of Nerf Everything into the ground like 11

I'm not in the majority of sindel mains. I had mained liu kang and scorpion in mk11 and didn't want to repeat it this game. I genuinely tried different characters and just kind of clicked with sindel. she isn't extremely overpowered and shes a little difficult to play, which i liked. I wanted a good challenge but also be able to have fun and win whenever i deserved the win without using a crazy overly powered charcter.

As a forever Shao main, that really made me smile. Shao ain't ever been great in his playable appearances, except MKvsDC but that game was its own monstrosity. But something about playing the big bad boss of the series and just running down these combos that feel like they hurt even if the damage isn't always there and it's unsafe who cares it's fun and I'm gonna stay there all day everyday. :)

I love Li Mei, my only request for buff or quality update would be to make active frames for lantern to start sooner or to adjust the way 2nd lantern calls can eat your input on certain kombos. By eat i mean she will not call a lantern whatsoever, she will just do a back 2 or whatever the number is for triangle. I'm fine with the 3 lantern max, but that input eating is unneccessary to me if it was intentional. We all know there are double and triple lantern kombos with kam assist, but solo is when the input eating happens. There's a difference between calling 2nd lantern after the 1st lantern explodes immediatly after called and when its on field for a few ms. Easy way to test; in corner position > JI3 (x) > stand 3 (x) > lantern > press any button to start a juggle after lantern hits > try to call 2nd lantern. You'll probably have about 1s or so before you can another lantern.

If Kung Lao didn’t have a cheap armored move I think it’d be fine to put him in yellow flag. It’s definitely the dirtiest thing he’s got. Just keep in mind though that Lao is really stubby. He has NO far reaching/advancing normals. Also, ANYTIME he whiffs a dive kick in front of you, he’s going into a down 3. Just let it happen and block lol

Def an easy character to zone. I’m a Lou main and yeah I agree, an armored wake up that can combo is pretty cheap but tbh everyone in this game has a “cheap” move, some more than others. I just think that atm people are still labbing things and eventually people will find out that some characters on the roster can definitely be stronger if they just don’t use cyrax and Selena. For example I’m pretty sure Darius can be very strong with someone like Gerus bc of how you can set up your opponent. Watch a vid and you’ll what I’m talking about.

Kitana has to work harder and relies on her opponents making mistakes to even get in. There’s a reason you don’t see many Kitanas competing in tournaments and winning. She plays a different game compared to most of the roster. I think a damage buff or a better mid would help her. No need for an OH.

Li Mei can’t combo off her armour. The non-armoured version can be used to make a combo with various kameos, but her armoured version has a different hit reaction which prevents you from relaunching. Happy to be proven wrong if you wanna post footage.

Kung Lao has been the same playstyle for the past 10 years. The only real difference is the spin is now on Kameo so we don't have the option to blow up yolo spins. Edit: Just got to the Kitana bit and she's who I switched to from Reiko. She seems really good in this game. Not sure who's asking for buffs on her, but it's probably just because she doesn't have mix. She's got some good range on a few of her normals, decent damage, some pretty good projectiles, and her strings are super easy to hit confirm. If I were to buff anything, it would be to connect the fan nado on connection with an airborne opponent. If you poke someone like smoke out of a jumping attack then you don't have a guaranteed chance to land the fan nado and you watch the fan go THROUGH the opponent. That seems like it's more of a bug, though.

The only thing I can say as a habit main is. 1. Make his roll full screen I get very angry when I role to punish someone and get punished my self because the role isn’t full screen 2. I am a Shao main since he was playable and my buffs suggestion for Shao are these: make his armor move a mid, you can literally neutral duck it and it doesn’t hit you. And give him more mid. Make stand 2 or stand 1 a mid. That’s all I’m asking for. Everything else is fine

I think he's fine on mids, since he has a mid launcher (even if it's slow, it hits and the range is stupid) but I do agree, his armored knee should be mid. That's the ONLY thing I'd change about him.

As a Shao main, I felt that. Mained him since day 1 of mk11 and maining him again here. To be fair though, I don't think he's that bad. He may have a lot less dirt than the rest of the cast, but I'd say he's still decent. His biggest issues seem to be his large hurtbox and lack of good projectiles, which makes him really struggle with zoning. But you can offset this with the right kameo. Other than that, its unfortunate that his back 1 and back 3 aren't hit confirmable and that his armored move can miss opponents that are low to the ground. Yeah, his forward 2 is mad punishable, but I think its fair that his 50/50s are unsafe. He seems ok, not really sure what I would buff, if anything.

I'd give him an overall damage buff considering he's supposed to be the unga bunga big damage character. And probably speed up his projectile a tad.

Only buff I'd give him is maybe speeding up his DB4 (both versions) and make his armored knee a mid. Don't make him any faster, don't make his overhead a combo starter, don't touch his damage. Just make his fucking knee a mid. One of the only characters with a high armored move 😮‍💨 and its a bitch using it to counter or something just for them to duck and get a full combo

I agree with most stuff I would say reptile is green because a buff I do agree is his force ball stuff if you do two force balls in one combo it scales pretty badly so it leaves reptiles combos very straight and doesn’t expand also raiden I would say yellow because I’ve dealt with a lot of raidens that would just back up and do his Superman and electric orbs all the time because it’s safe and can yolo all the time and rain I would say yellow and im a rain main because of the hard to blockable with the Whirlpool and overhead also we do complain about his stubbiness and his speed which I do feel are problems but he has a lot of good things tho it’s just those two things make it hard against pressure but yeah everything else I agree

Honestly, Diff I think it is crazy how the MK community acts about their Edenian female characters like Jade and Kitana. I don’t really have social media, but when Kitana was not that great in mk11 I was loyal and still used her. Kitana is great at where she is right now in mk1, imo. The one who truly needs buffs in MK1 is Sub Zero. Even tho I have always liked Scorpion as the better ninja my boy sub got nerfed to the ground.😭

I main Smoke. I haven't used Sareena with him. I use him mostly because I missed him since he was last playable in mk9. I don't think he needs buffs, although I'm a bit a afraid that he might get nerfs actually. I haven't played much online yet as I do fear getting humiliated.

Since you put both my mains in green tier (Havik and Nitara) and because of what you said about Reptile...I'm thinking of picking him up within the next two seasons. Which was my plan anyway Everything you said about buffs. No-one needs a buff. Give smoke negative recovery frames on overhead teleport...thats it! 😂😂

i play smoke because the first time i played a mortal kombat game was mk3 with my brother on the original xbox and i remember seeing smoke peeking from behind the trees on the living forest map. i never played any other mk that had him in it so i finally get the chance to in this game.

Kung Lao/scorpion main in 9, reptile main in X, Cassie cage/Raiden main in 11. I’m liking reptile and lei mei in mk1. I’m trying to get better with other cameos who isn’t cyrax. Cyrax is a really good cameo right now. I remember the beginning of mk11 where many people picked Sonya, geras, or scorpion. Which Sonya and scorpion players being the most toxic when the game came out.

I will happily live that villain life, if it means I can have hype combos and a neverending learning mindset. Shang Tsung is so fun to play from every standpoint. The age swapping, the adjustments I have to make alongside my opponent on the fly. And then there's stuff I can do when I'm not playing! Every replay I watch, a lesson is there. I can watch streams of other characters and take notes. I can learn so much! And when all else fails, I can just zone people alongside Stryker and then be told I have no penis.

I am a Havik main. I think he is stronger than people realize, but i certainly don't think he's broken. He's good at crushing braindead players that like to throw out whole strings or pokes too much. He has some really fun and cool combos. If you use Jax kameo with proper timing, his setups are really strong and potentially game enders.

I play Sub too, and I agree with you! He was so good in the beta that people out there were crying and got Sub nerfed. However, he’s not terrible like a lot of people are saying. I know that because I actually managed to make a couple Raiden’s rage quit against my Sub, so that happened!! Like you, I agree Sub needs buffs. However, what ticks me off is that those crybabies got him nerfed, and now they say he’s unusable; give him buffs. Which is it?! Anyways, little rant aside, love the content bro, keep it up!!

Sindel main here, I don't know why, but I fell in love with the character. I saw a combo video of her and decided she will be my main. I don't even play any other character, I just lab them to learn how combos go and how to counter, but yes she's very good because she can hit you mid screen. Sadly there's no mixup but half screen combo makes up for that. I used to main noob saibot back in mk11 so I always loved cool combos. Her difficulty I would say it's not too hard but you can mess up easily also serana makes her a good top tier.

I swapped jax for scopion with my raiden. More mix ups, garunteed 400 plus damage with one bar. Max damage combo is 56%. It makes him more aggressive than just waiting for a punish and doing 50%. Rather have more opportunity to do 400 plus than a less opportunity to do 500

I recently dropped scorpion for liu kang after reaching Demi god because he's just impossible to play with against actual good players. He has literally no mixups at all. I know you said characters don't need mixups to be good but for me since I'm not a great player trying to open up players in Demi God is impossible lol

If utilised properly, Liu Kang has one of the best mixups in the game. Not overhead low, but simply his f434 adds so many layers to his game that it is even better than most mix ups. I currently main Liu with Lao kameo, his most ideal kameo. Adding to that the low hat and the throw combo, youll have ur opponents second guessing all game if u play ur cards right.

Smoke and kenshi main here , it definitely takes practice to play kenshi but it’s well worth it for his high meterless damage and setups. And yeah all I see in Demi god rank rn is raiden, Johnny and baraka literally all day.

Reptile doesn’t need any buffs, he needs his hit boxes fixed, the fact that B31 doesn’t always connect or his f23 not always connecting is really obnoxious, especially when it whiffs after the first hit connects. That’s what needs to be changed. Also make EX invis do something.
