These are cheap, safe little strips that you keep on your tongue for some time and let it melt... you'll feel sleepy in an hour or two. Do this for a couple of days whenever you need to sleep (set a fixed time) and your body will adapt. Worked like a charm for me.

Morning people get better grades because they don't procrastinate as much, and can think well in the morning. Evening people don't feel functional and inspired in the morning, so are more likely to procrastinate. But, they tend to be more creative, especially at night, so they just need to do the same tasks at different times.

I've been an insomniac and a light sleeper for nearly all my life. Ever since I was about 5-6, it would take me a long time to fall asleep (45 minutes from the time I hit the pillow on a good night). I've also had issues with afternoon drowsiness and I normally have the most energy in the evening. I have done sleep tests, including a couple of overnight stays - the first one they could not get much data because I could not sleep at all. Doctors first said I had sleep apnea, but using CPAP and other devices only seemed to make the problem worse. I later did another sleep test and they said I was fine without the therapy.
@meagiesmuse23343 жыл бұрын
Thanks for talking about circadian rhythm disorders....they can cause lots of problems and are hard to fix. However, when you talked about hypothyroid symptoms, the screen said hyperthyroidism, which is the exact opposite. You said people with apnea should sleep on their backs, and that is the exact opposite of what sleep doctors I know recommend. If you have apnea, stay off your back, since it makes it a whole lot worse. Some people don't have apnea at all except when they sleep on their backs, so doctors say to sew a pocket on the back of your nightshirt and put a tennis ball in it to keep you from rolling onto your back.

I am a nurse - and back in Serbia my working schedule was so hectic (add to it my usual messed up sleeping habits) that I had more night shifts and less time to relax after it (for example one day off and then back to day shift) - it really messed up my sleeping habits and generally life. I moved to another country - Germany, hopefully the work schedule will be less hectic here, but kinda crazy work hours are a little too much normalized for nurses and I am still kinda having feeling that it's on the first look too good here to be true. But, at least I have experience about my body response to crazy shifts back home, so I will be able to better manage my time here.

Morning person gets better grade because of time when school starts, its usually starts at 8 am. Morning person wake up and feel okay, they are ready to study and to focus, while Night owl just cant go earlier to sleep because of chronotype, so when they wake up at 7 or 6 am to go to school, they are very tired and not ready to focus, its still their time for sleep. My boyfriend just found out that he has sleep apnea after going in to have it checked out after I suggested it and said he sounded just like my grandma snoring when he snores and she had sleep apnea. He uses a cpap machine now and it makes a world of difference. I’ve found that I rarely need an alarm clock anymore no matter what time I have to wake up as long as I tell myself to wake up at a certain time I will always wake up a few minutes before it’s time to wake up. I used to be able to sleep for hours on end with no problem but as I have gotten older, (I’ll be 47 this month), if I sleep longer than 8 hours I’ll wake up with the beginning of a headache that’s hard to get rid of as the day goes on. I can sometimes stave it off by drinking a lot of water right before bed or during the day since it feels like a dehydration headache.

Waking up between 3-5am is a sign of spiritual awakening. Rumi says, don't go back to sleep, the morning has something to teach you. Sadhguru recommends bathing and then sitting for meditation with damp/wet hair as that will keep you from falling asleep. Anyone waking up can try this & see if maybe you start sleeping earlier too 🙏🏽😊❤

I highly recommend women start getting their thyroid checked by age 30 if their mom's/grandmothers had it. It's not uncommon for thyroid disorders to start between 30 and 40 years of age as opposed to 60. I started having hypothyroid problems at age 32 which is around the same time my mom and grandmother developed it.

medical professional here, the video needs a correction: In sleep apnoea, the most common form being Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA), sleeping on your back exacerbate symptoms because gravity weighs your soft palate down into your airway/pharynx, thereby obstructing it. So the recommendation is to sleep on your SIDE. 4:07

That people wake up at three in the night is because that time causes a certain synchronisation with your circadium rhythm. If you wake up at that time, sit up, breathe and/or meditate in silence for a few minutes, and go back to sleep. This is also the best time for lucid dreaming practice. This time is called Brahma Muhurtan in Yoga, but there are practices during that time from all over the world. My grandparents and their families woke up, read a book or just huddled together for 15 minutes, and went back to sleep. This was normal before WW2 in The Netherlands, too. It is against our biological clock to try to stay asleep during this time.

Me: takes extremely long to fall asleep, and therefore usually distracts and "entertains" myself by hanging out on my phone, till i decide to sleep/i am tired, and i tend to be more creative and active at night. Even if i did sleep the perfect amount of sleep, i am always tired af, and if nobody would wake me up, i could easily sleep for +14 hours. (I'm not exaggerating, i mean it. There's been lots of times where i was in bed like 16 hours, i slept for 13 hours after my mom finally woke me up) i don't always sleep for +14 hours, due to school it changes between 3 to 14 hours so far. Also, i tend to sleep on my side. Therefore, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, and 9 apply to me. 2. I didn't really have a career yet, so i can't say whether i am very successful or not. 3. Pessimistic & late at night overthinking everything ✅ 5. Idk, tbh 6. I mean, i researched A LOT, and i had all the symptoms and signs if depression since about Sep/Oct 2020, that makes about 8 months. I don't know much about sleep apnea, so i can't really say that much about that 8. 9.

I’ve been curious if I have depression, I always and I mean always wake up tired no matter how early I go to bed at, it’s like my mind just makes me go back to sleep (I also have a problem with oversleeping) this isn’t the first symptom I have of depression either.

Some days I don't want to go to sleep because I don't want to face tomorrow's work and responsibilities. Thankfully I'm in school and I'll have like 2 months or more of vacation in a month or something. I really hope I can take a break from this homework and exam crap (I have good grades but all of this is tiring and stressful)

Nothing like having a baby to make you appreciate any bit of sleep you can get. That sorts out the 'not being able to fall asleep' problem. Also esp if you're feeding at night, you wake up in all kinds of a twister/tangle mess 😜
