Hey there, my tips would be. Use air bnb. You can get great places staying outside of Oslo and transport is really good. Also, you can rent a room instead of the whole place. If you stay somewhere centric, WALK! I walked so much when I stayed there. Also, good to buy food and drinks at a supermarket, and there are a couple of food markets where you can go for a cheap treat, avoid alcohol!

I visited Oslo in October, 2018. I stayed at the SmartHotel Oslo which came out to about USD83 a night for a single room and it was perfectly fine. For a city that expensive, I thought it was a pretty good value. The other thing I did was bite the bullet and buy a 72 hour Oslo pass. It cost me about USD93 and with a better exchange rate now, it's even cheaper. I used it for a total of 10 museums and the free use of buses and trams included was essential. You can't avoid public transit if half the things you want to see are on Bygdoy. What was also nice is it's 72 hours, not 3 days so since I didn't use it on my first day until about 11:00, I was able to use it to get into the Nobel Museum at 10:00 on my 4th day since technically I still had 1 hour to go on my 72 hour pass.

I'm from Oslo and really impressed by this video, loads of good tips. Also, your norwegian pronunciation of the bars in Strøget is pretty well. This is what the words mean: Angst = anxiety, Uhørt = unheard, Café Sør = Café south.

And spending quite a bit of time with locals while listening to the conversations in Norwegian of course. I must say many words are written in an obscure way, but when you learn the rules of pronunciation they are read almost the same as German.

Yes Oslo and Bergen can wipe out the wallet. I find having a currency conversion calculator when traveling help a lot. I also found when there the Asian,India,Middle Eastern stores and restaurants much more reasonable. You did an awesome job in your explanation of things. I need to add a few things if you are traveling on a budget. In EGON, you can eat pizza, salads, and dressing for the whole day on Sundays and Mondays for 117kr, and for 70kr on other days until 18 o'clock. If you need some cheap alcohol or cigarets, just stop any polish person on the street and ask them do they know someone who is selling it on the black market. Alchocol is like 10 to 50 euros for 1 L bottle, depending on alcohol type and cigarets are like 5 euros. Also, you can go to Gurudwara Sri Guru, a Sikhism shrine, on Alnabru, they are giving food to the people as I heard, but I didn't check it.

Amazing video for sure!! We Turks know how to eat cheap, healthy in a budget for sure!! Anker Hostel is not a good choice. I stayed Saga Poshtel (Around Akershus Castle) about 40€ but I got 17€ back after staying so the actual cost was 23€. It was including amazing breakfast. (Thank you booking.com hehe) PS. Unfortunately I cannot answer properly to your question. Every time I go to Norway I use my Italian sim card. There is a European law that allows you to use your sim card without roaming extra costs in every country of the European Union (Norway is not member of the EU and it's still a mystery why they are an exception in this case). I'm pretty sure that a sim purchased in Denmark or Sweden would work there. Just send a quick email to the service provider to make sure this is the case.

Sounds a lot of beautiful things to see and a lot of time to spend (I hope you have at least 2 weeks time for all these activities!). Bring adequate rain equipment: rain jacket, rain pants, waterproof boots. It's probably still going to be t-shirt weather, but take one fleece sweater with you to layer up with a jacket for possible colder days.

@@Hispandinavian Totally agree. I`ve seen MANY tourist who seem to go to the "tourist traps", convenience stores, like 7/11 or Deli de Luca. They are EXPENSIVE, even by Norwegian standards. I do allow myself the occasional sausage from 7/11, that is when they have campaigns (usually once a month), when you can get a big chili würst (with bread) for 29 NOK, instead of the usual 45 NOK. Also; MANY foreign tourists buy tap water-there is NO need for this as Oslo has some of the best tap water in Europe. So, bring a refill bottle instead.

Brandy Madison they live in Greenland, Nook, only Eskimo in Oslo is the mascot of Norsk iskrem /Diplomis the biggest producer of icecreem in Norway, Fun fact the Vikings knew Iceland was green and Greenland to be glacial to discourage settlers to come further north not many could survive a winter in Greenland so why bother going to Iceland right, but obviously the hot springs in Iceland made it much easier, but quite hostile even today....both I think

Come and buy alcohol in Istanbul. Norway is cheap for that incomes. Turkey is expensive and we also have too less incomes. So generaly goverment says us you will not live easily :D

@@WhatashameMaryJane If you were to choose from the menu of Punjabi Tandoori, try out Palak Paneer or Punjabi Veg with Lassi. Also, the gulab jamun is worth trying, but 35 krone is super expensive. I'm a vegetarian, so I have no perspective about the first half of the menu.
