Kim Taehyung s album is ART. It's not meant for Billboard and he is not trying to achieve the main stream banger hit. He is here for the music he loves, he wants to share with us and he sounds phenomenal ❤❤❤❤

I know and a lot of people are calling him a flop for that which is really annoying considering that despite this direction he chose to go for this album he was still breaking records . He could’ve easily picked to do a highly commercialized sound but he didn’t . That alone proves his not greedy to get popular as a solo artist right away. He wants to be taken seriously as a real artist with classy and sophisticated music that will last.

In BTS, the fans recognize V for his visuals. Talent wise, he gets lost in the shuffle. When they think of dance, they think of JHope & Jimin. And vocals, JK, but V was referred to as "the secret weapon" for a reason & people forget that. For me, I was most excited for his project and he did not disappoint! As of this writing, I have seen V’s Tiny Desk performance for the 8th time since it came out! His voice is captivating and the band is absolutely incredible! Your reactions were priceless!

First of all, this is another example of a BTS member completely blowing my expectations out of the water! I knew that I was going to love every second of this performance and I knew that the live band was going to sound beautiful meshed with Tae's voice! I was not prepared however, to ascend to third heaven and feel as weightless as a feather and have my whole world rocked by the ecstatic synergy that was being displayed! Second of all, I loooooove seeing Tae in his element, happy, and grooving - no joke, that alone had tears brimming my eyes! Lastly, I'm no music expert but the way I will lose my marbles over a satisfying instrumental rearrangement in a song makes me think I should become one!...and Tae's voice along with his beautifully talented background singers....wow, I'm seriously in awe. I've been waiting for this performance since it was announced and he, once again, did not disappoint (he never will)! My favorite male singer for a reason!!!

What you mentioned about Tae choosing his band and singers for his performance speaks SO much of his love and respect for music and its roots. Other musicians would've done amazing--such as IU's band on IU's palette, and Tae loved them so much too. But for him to specifically fly this group of beautiful musicians for his performances (the singers were also on his other music shows) sends such a strong message. After the flak he got for "seemingly" mouthing or singing an offensive word, he silently proved people wrong with nary a word. His heart and intentions spoke thru his vision and artistry. He said on Insta that this is what he'd been dreaming of for a long time. This is the music that inspires him, we have black people to thank for it, and he wanted to share that to everyone. It's the young Taehyung in American Hustle Life coming full circle after maturing so much--giving credence to his teachers, especially Miss Iris Stevenson with the gospel-inspired infusions of Love Me Again. (I LOLed at you asking which church he recruited from). Oh I am so so proud of him. I will admit that the album on its own was produced to be more radio-friendly, pop song style. But when it was announced that he would be on Tiny Desk Korea, this was the EXACT performance that I imagined, but it still blew me out of the water and gave me goosebumps. I wish he'd lean into this more to be honest--it suits him so much and I want to hear him freely singing his heart out, adlibbing while jiving with the music. The band was FIRE. Gosh, I would love to sit and hang and just listen to them going on for HOURS. I knew when the album dropped that there was a lot of instrumentals to play with and arrange to your heart's content. Whilst sad there was quite too little of Tae singing, man did those beautiful instrumentals made me so happy. He really has a way of using his light to make people around him shine too. That's Tae for you!

Wow..... the sax really amps this song up to another level. This is a crisp lovely version of this song. ("Love Me Again") This is virtually an instant classic. Tae's voice is so velvety smooth and rich, it really shines in songs like this. Tae always sounds even more phenomenal live then on the studio versions when for most others it's the opposite. I am so very happy Tae is letting his R&B/Jazz/Soul side show. He also said he is working on songs that are different from LayoVer and I can't wait to hear them. Tae is a phenomenal singer, dancer, artist, performer, etc and I am so happy he is getting the opportunity to really spread his creative wings. His voice and performance captured me from day 1 and he keeps taking it to the next level. Also I love Tae with a live band both on this and on IU's Palette, a terrific band really showcases Tae's vocals and gives an intimate lounge/Jazz club feel. I can't wait for the day Tae does a tour with his solo songs. Also your comment about the backup singers sounding like they were from a church was so on point. There were also times where Tae's way of singing also reminded me of a church choir. I can't praise this performance and Tae's vocals enough. Bravo Tae!

I have waited so long for this. I always knew he had the capability to deliver the quality vocals, he just needed the right type of music. This album full of vibes is geared for live performances as these types of songs can be changed up to create even more alternative vibes. Tae looked so happy and in his element in this performance, it really looks like the kind of music he wants to do. This was an old school jam session from the jazz/r&b genre. He finished this amazing album of with the performance on tiny desk that wholeheartedly delivered what I expected from Tae. As Tae said this album is a turning point and the first stop on his journey, what a high bar he has set with this album. This performance and his debut with IU were a chef’s kiss. Tae in Tiny Desk is literally magic. He ate the CD that day and sang so perfectly. Tae's talent never ceases to amaze me every time he performs. The live band and singers added so much swag to the performance. I am loving this era for Tae and that it is totally his style. If you look at the way Tae sings, it is so effortless for him to hit the notes. It might be weird to some but I like to look at his mouth and throat when he sings, especially in a relaxed setting like Tiny Desk, plus he's beautiful so why not stare at him lol. Expected no less from a BTS member. They have always shined not just with top notch performances but with their musicality that stands above many - evocative, sincere, full of resonance. I’m so glad V opted to show this side of him. It’s really inaccurate to say BTS is in kpop. I feel like they’re already beyond kpop. O...M...G!!! I Looooove the Tiny Desk performance of these amazing songs!!!! V's soulful vocals and the backup singers are phenomenal. Jacob playing the saxophone and flute was gave that jazz that V loves so much. Brett on the keyboard was doing his thing. Overall, the band and backup dancers really contributed to bringing V's song to a whole new level for me 💜

V really made an album focused on music. I hope people realize how out of the box this is for an idol. None of the songs on Layover is typical kpop nor are they songs that are easily marketable to the Korean market. This is V, stripping everything down and putting music out there that he actually wants. It’s beautiful, it’s brave and it’s so admirable.

I was waiting for y'alls reaction to this! Listening to these otherworldly musicians made me miss New Orleans so bad! In another life I could see V as a Quarter Rat, L I V I N' it up every night singing in different clubs. Or even at Tipitina's! I'd pay an obscene amount of money to see him do a set there! As I said to someone else, I already loved Layover. V; slow, smooth, Korean R&B with a dash of Jazz; and a sad, mellow , and reflective groove - all that had me locked in. I also loved that despite the sadness of the album, I still am left with hope because this is a layover and isn’t the final destination. In any case, I watched V’s Tiny Desk Korea yesterday and again today with WhatchaGot2Say. So many of your reactions were similar to mine. V and his ensemble took me to another level of love for this album. The collection of sounds, movements, artists, instruments, and V’s hints of improvisation (another sign of his growth) were so good. Also, I loved that he chose to work with a number of Black musicians for this performance. This helped me feel that he is honoring the origins of the music he loves, R&B and Jazz, and also the people who created it. So often, the love (and use) of Black music is divorced from a love and respect of Black people. The collection of musicians in this performance made Layover feel like even MORE than it had already. It felt so good. I really look forward to enjoying this particular performance for a long-@$$ time. Thanks, V. Thanks to the background singers. Thanks to the band.
