It was in Series 3 of Peaky that I noticed the effort to have Tommy not eat. He’s at home recovering from his head injury, sitting in front of a full breakfast, then proceeds to smoke instead of eat. It’s a nice touch that really helps with Tommy’s enigmatic personality.

In Malcolm In The Middle, the kids release a hamster inside its exercise ball early in the six-season run. Then throughout the series you'll see it randomly go tooling by in the background. That was effing hilarious!!

Another reason for Riker leaning on things was to keep in in the frame because Frakes is so tall. Another trick they often used was to have him have conversations where the person he is speaking to close to the camera and him standing across the room.

I was just thinking, how tall does he have to be to casually raise his leg over the back of a chair without it being distractingly obvious
@keith670610 күн бұрын
@@ejgoldlust Frakes is 6'3". Add a little bit for the boots/shoes on the costume. What assisted is that, coincidentally, most of the seats used on sets like 10 Forward and the secondary chairs in front of desks had low backs, basically like the seats used in fast-food places. I'm 5'9" and I can easily step over one of those, but because I'm not as tall it's much more obvious. It also wasn't as noticeable because when it happened something else was usually going on in the scene that people had reason to pay attention to, like someone talking. Also, presumably, the takes where he didn't do it so smoothly for whatever reason didn't make it on air.

I always thought that mounting of the chair Riker did was Jonathan Frakes playing up how tall and physically imposing he was by simply swinging a leg over the back of a chair (a move I imagine only Michael Dorn, among the rest of the cast, was tall enough to replicate) and lowering himself into the seat.

Wasn’t the Psych pineapple gag because James ad libbed “should I cut this (pineapple) up for the road” in the pilot, and the writers thought it was funny enough to build off?

My favorite one is in Fresh Prince Of Belair with Uncle Phil throwing Jazzy Jeff out of his house. Everytime this happens, it is the same shot. The shirt is always the same. They filmed that one scene if him flying out the door separately and make sure that when it happens in the show he is wearing that particular shirt.

Here are other running gags that may be overlooked: Hawkeye smells his food before he eats it, MASH - Throughout the 11 seasons of MASH, Hawkeye Pierce (played by Alan Alda) has such a disdain for performing "meatball surgery" at an army field hospital, that even the food tends to be unappealing. That's why, throughout the show, whenever he serves himself at the mess hall or sits down at the table with a full plate, he will frequently take a moment to smell his food before eating it. It's a small thing, yes, but at the same time, Hawkeye clearing has no intention of getting self-inflicted food poisoning. Walter adapts behavior patterns of those he kills, Breaking Bad - Breaking Bad is considered one of the greatest TV shows (Say it with me, kids) OF ALL TIME, thanks in no small part to Bryan Cranston's brilliant performance as Walter White, science-teacher-turned-drug-kingpin. As the show progresses throughout its five seasons, Walter begins adapting habits and behavior patterns of the people he kills over the run of the show. For example, after his first victim, Krazy-8, dies, Walter begins cutting the crusts off his sandwiches, which is how Krazy-8 liked them. After killing Mike, Walter starts taking his whiskey on the rocks, which is how Mike drank his whiskey. But the most notable example comes late in Season 4. Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) shares a drink of poisoned tequila with cartel leader Don Eladio Vuente (Steven Bauer) and his crew. He excuses himself to the bathroom, and while everyone else is keeling over, Gus meticulously rolls up a towel, sets it on the floor as makeshift kneepads, and purges the bad liquor into the toilet. In a later episode after Walter kills Gus, we see him go through the same exact ritual himself as he prepares to throw up after receiving chemotherapy.

"The Riker Maneuver" is on this? Something every one knows about. Something the actor is sick of talking about? Really guys? Whats next, did you know the Cylons arent robots but just actors in a costume? Did you know South Park shows aliens in several backgrounds? And also in Cannibal the Musical? In Community they show Beatlejuice after saying Beatlejuice three times. Derr fucking derr. You all should feel shame.

A running gag I noticed in The Big Bang Theory, until she gets married, Penny doesn't have a last name. This might not seem that odd, except we meet her father, mother, and brother, and never hear a last name for them either.

1) Rick never wearing his seat belt was not only something that was very much noticed, it was extensively discussed in many forums specifically because of the Pickle Rick episode when, after his very close brush with actual death, he puts his seat belt on - showing a shift in his perspective. 2) The Riker Maneuver has been famous since long before the internet. Also, the Picard Maneuver (where he would pull the bottom of his shirt down). Seriously, these have been famous for a long time. 3) Community's constant use of the same song? Seriously? Of all the things that went on in the background of this show, you think _that_ was something no one noticed? Come on now. 4) Pretty sure everyone knew about the pineapple gag in Psych. You know, since there was a website made to track the pineapples in each episode (you even mentioned this IN YOUR VIDEO). 5) I'm just gonna stop here, and say that most of these are from either very self-aware and meta shows that fans intentionally looked for (and found) all of these things in, or they are massively popular shows that were cultural phenomenons that also had fans seeing or noticing these things. Perhaps think about renaming this video by just removing the last 4 words of the current title.
