I think the main unsinkability is that the man exudes confidence, and it shows through in every role. And simultaneously can disappear into any role. No matter how crappy the movie is Brad Pitt remains a watchable presence. Steady as a rock. Also, I know he’s gotten more shine for it recently due to Bullet Train, but he had been an underrated comedic actor for a while. Burn After Reading, and Inglorious Basterds are some of his best roles.

I always thought that Meet Joe Black was one of those, “prestige movies,” that the studio knew would make a loss. It’s actually really good if you like family dramas. The supernatural element is intriguing but not what makes it work. It’s an emotionally charged, “classic,” or, “old,” Hollywood style of movie that you could imagine Frank Capra or Douglas Sirk directing back in the day.

How I HATE the reading up of how much movies earned or lost at the box office, like that is the determing factor in how we are told to feel about that film. Like, many of those movies, I saw and judged it myself out of what effect it had on me, not if it was a flop in dollar bills. I just think it's wrong to make movie-going or movie reviews, a competition, driven by money.

you're talking like a movie goer/fan, but movies are made for profit and that's how they are evaluated by the studios - it's box office / cost, and if it's well above 1 then it's a hit, otherwise a flop. Pitt has been a great actor but his performance is mostly uncorrelated to the movie's box office performance. I'd say most of the films he stars in are at least decent and almost all of his roles are well played - in the long run, that is what counts and what build actor's legacy. Nobody cares about box office after a while, not even the execs that get filthy rich on the movie.
@Man_Ray78
@Man_Ray78 4 ай бұрын
@@vaakdemandante8772 Obviously. If there where nobody that financed the films ,expecting a payback, there would be no movies produced and it is a business. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about how many reviewers, talk about box office profit like that is defining factor in the quality of the piece. I mean, it is nearly impossible to go unbiased to the Cinema because any reference point those so called professional critics judge the movie from is from did it make or brake. There are so many movies that are trashed, like a virus, because of the budget or how much/little they profited the first week in the Cinema, but then years later it's a masterpiece. If it is a competition race for profit, then it is not anything that I'd care to see and I usually don't see those films, and we can feel it and see it. Most of those Critics that had something to say, had something more to say than how well it did at the post office. It's just my opinion because I remember when critics did their job better.

Brad Pitt is the perfect example of why character actors have such long careers. Anyone who is asked to perform in a Cohen Bros movie is pretty good. Anyone who is solicited by Quentin Tarantino is pretty good. Anybody recruited by David Lynch is pretty good. If Neal Gordon wants you to act alongside Tom Cruise, you're pretty good. If your good enough that Heinrich Harrer casts you in a small but critically acclaimed film, then a big Hollywood film your pretty good. And if one of your starring roles made half a billion dollars and you're best friends with George Clooney.........your a bit better than pretty good and your career is as close to unsinkable as a Hollywood career gets.

Idk what they smoke who say Pitt has a bad accent. He voice >>>>>>Tom cruise, stallone, etc. His jawline looks smirk and body type (lean muscular) is also clear of them And anyways he's a 2 time Oscar winner.

Ya but he shows RDJ while saying "unlike other talents..." (who did have industry connections). He is saying RDJ had industry connections where Brad Pitt did not.

So Brad Pitt came into my job once a couple years ago and smiled at me, and it was just like that Theo Von bit - I became instantly gay 😂 Good Lord that man is handsome.

@@KarKara-jw1if ask the light of the Sun can only be measured against the darkness of night, as each thing contains within it its opposite, one can't be truly straight unless they're gay for Brad Pitt.

Brad Pitt's acting chops are underrated. He steals every scene and is usually the only interesting character in whatever movie he's in. Bullett Train is a good example. When he's not in any part of the movie, it drags and it's boring. Most of the other actors in it are trying way too hard. It's an undefinable talent he's always had and honed over time. Much like having knockout power in boxing, you either have it or you don't.
