Yeah, I feel like they got Downey's entry wrong too. The improv he did on Iron Man just led to a bigger career and a lot of typecasting, but he had to work really hard to get there. He started with a really bizarre movie called The Singing Detective, and a lot of movies he did after that refused to pay him fully until he'd gotten through all of his scenes without going on a bender. Most of Hollywood didn't trust him. He relied a lot on hard work and some pity jobs offered by the friends he still had left after rehab. That's what let him work his way up to the point he could do Iron Man at all. Acting like it's a random tweak he made to his persona is just, like...really downplaying the story of a man whose life got so rough he wound up becoming cellmates with a wife-killer.

But he gave a way more heartfelt performance than I was expecting having read nothing but the general premise of the film.

Of all the pointless lists of anything, this is the worst. It should be in the “What-Not-Culture” section. Whoever wrote it managed to attribute the success of a performer to a change in hairstyle/grooming 3 out of 10 times. Even more stupid is to claim that the utterance of a single word made another actor’s success. If this was self parody, well done. If not, I am sorry for the poor writer.
@kieranhair376 ай бұрын
Not to mention that at least two of these were less what they wrote in the list and more that the actor stopped doing so many damn drugs. I don't really see this as a bad list idea in theory, but they clearly didn't have 10 ideas for this going in.

Well, when you have the amount of money that he has you can dress and look however the hell you want! And for the amount of money that man has, he is incredibly easy going and leads a very simple life. He also donated a large portion of his salary to the stunt team, I believe, for the first or second Matrix movie. He also gifted Custom Motorcycles, Harleys I had read somewhere, to his stunt team as well. What a generous, selfless, and all-around amazing man.

The absolute stupid and ridiculous things to make a list off.. that literally had zero influence on making actors “cool” here let me try.. I don't think it launched most of them, honestly. Like, they've all gotten work. And I guess the Scream franchise was a good get for Cox-Arquette. But most of them have had really small successes at best. Perry was great in The Whole 9 Yards but did a couple of terrible romcoms nearly back to back that nearly tanked him. Aniston's had the most consistent career, usually as the wife of some comedy movie main character. If she made a tweak at all, I'd say it was when she started doing slightly ruder comedies like Horrible Bosses and We're the Millers. Both movies that highlighted her sex appeal, yet did so in sort of odd ways. I feel like that helped put her under a new light that a lot of viewers weren't used to since she'd been taking more innocent roles up til then. But I doubt that's what she's doing with her Mean Girls spinoff, so I wouldn't even call that a tweak that stuck.
@killah_disciple110 ай бұрын
None of these things really affected careers. Keanu had been rocking that look got a while. He had long hair as Ted "Theodore" Logan. It was John Wick that revived his career. Nothing else. Amy Adams dyed her hair red and now looks like a RED headed sister wife. Her hair has had no effect on her career. She still looks like Isla Fisher's plain older sister. Sam Jackson is associated with that word because yt people.associate him with that word and he capitalizes off of that stupidity along with Tarantino's constantly casting him in racist movies.
