Wow, another odd list. Look Shyamlan may have his detractors, but dude did Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbroken and Split and all were fairly well-received. So not sure if you are just going for low-hanging fruit and avoiding facts, dude has directed some good movies and some bad ones, doesn't make him a "bad" director. Unlike most of your other directors on this list, M. Knight had enough success that at worse I would call him an uneven director. The Visit was a great one as well and the Trap was a fun watch last year.

Historically, the British have always taken great pride in mispronouncing everybody else's languages and names. I remember seeing a documentary show about French culture with an English narrator, and he put some real effort into Anglicizing everything to a cartoonish degree. He even referred to that little brimless French cap as a BAIR-etttt rather than beh-RAY, and you could hear him putting rather hard emphasis on that final T so that you wouldn't accidentally mistake him for, goodness forbid, a Frenchman.

The twist in 6th Sense was not surprising at all, at least to me. Not only does Bruce Willis get shot in the very first scene of the movie, but throughout the whole runtime, he doesn't speak to ANYONE other than Haley Joel (who tells us multiple times he can see dead people as if hitting us with a hammer over the head)! But, I can agree that M. Night Notgonnatrytospellhislastname IS a terrible director. In fact, I can agree with nearly all of the directors being on this list as long as you add Joel Schumacher (Falling Down was pretty good and could have been great in someone else's hands). Sadly, Renny Harlin can't be included because he's NEVER directed a good movie, nor has Tommy Wiseau, which makes your #1 ridiculous.
@user-mg5mv2tn8q16 күн бұрын
As for Renny Harlin, I quite enjoyed Die Hard 2 and The Long Kiss Goodnight. I even sort of enjoyed Ford Fairlane, though I'm not proud to admit that. Beyond those, I'm not really familiar with his work.
@Ceares16 күн бұрын
The twist isn't what makes The Sixth Sense a good movie though, just like with Unbreakable. The twist is just a bonus.
@MaxModded16 күн бұрын
@@Ceares Hmm... You may have a point. I never thought of it that way. All I heard about prior to seeing it was "this unbelievable twist that you'll never see coming" so when I saw it in the theaters and he dies in the first scene and then never talks to anyone throughout the entire movie, all I could think to myself while watching it was "him being dead better not being the f'ing twist!!! lol" -- So when it was, that just really really annoyed me, to the point that I probably couldn't recognize it as a fairly good movie otherwise. Thank you for mentioning that.
