People wanted Drew to win, forgetting that Gunther has a title shot at SummerSlam and the company is heading towards Drew vs Punk for the PLE

They'll probably save Drew vs CM Punk until WrestleMania. SummerSlam will probably be 8-9 matches and a lot of those are already lined up: Gunther vs Priest Nia vs Bayley Logan Paul vs LA Knight Slim Jim Battle Royal Those are pretty much set already... the way stories are going, the rest will probably be: Chad vs Otis Theory/Waller vs Bloodline/Gorillas of Destiny Liv Morgan vs... might be Rhea Cody vs... Solo or Orton That would be 8 matches already. If they add one more it would probably be a mid carder match to work as a bathroom break, might be Awesome Truth vs...?, Bobby Lashly vs...?, Legado or LWO vs...? Its actually most likely to be a women's match (giving them a third of the card) but there isn't enough time to build up for Bianca vs Jade yet so it will probably be a women's tag team fatal four way to see who gets a match for the titles at Bash at Berlin

I am bummed that Drew is getting shafted yet again. Drew with the belt would have been great and the feud with Punk would (and still is) going to be one for the books. However, I'd rather see Punk take it from Drew at Summer Slam and then line up for a possible Gunther /Punk or Gunther/Punk/ Drew Triple Threat at WrestleMania match.

Gunther will be our next WWE Champion, and Drew will be wrestling Punk. I'm in for it. Priest will be a Transitional Champion, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I dont see it being a long run.

Gunther winning is the only positive thing about the screw up. Maybe it's because I don't like Punk, but he hasn't delivered for me. Drew carried the feud and the Punk's interference at CatC actually turned it boring for me. It was a mixture between AJ in Australia and every single time the bloodline interfered for Roman.

Punk is going to announce he's cleared or close to clearing to set up the long-awaited match against Drew at Summer Slam. I wonder if Drew will show up at Smackdown just to get a small bit of revenge. Much like Gable, Drew's match doesn't need a title, yes it sucks Drew lost at Clash at the Castle AGAIN and at home, but there is a bigger story. Chad Gable resigned and while it sucks he didn't win the IC title, his storyline with Otis is greater than a belt. I do think he will get his due, but right now people want to see the break up of Otis and Gable. Sammy returns now that he can no longer give a Hardy Bros any brain damage.

I thought it made sense: - Gunther likely to win at SummerSlam... that would have made Drew a champion for 2 months - Drew vs Punk doesn't need the title to keep the feud going: Drew wants the title, Punk wants to screw with Drew - Drew's story is to win the WHC, maybe doing it for his dad, but to do so he needs to overcome his own hubris... and CM Punk - The best end to this story would be for Drew to win the title off CM Punk... They can get there by --> Having Gunther beat Priest at SummerSlam --> CM Punk wins Money in the Bank --> Punk cashes in on Gunther and wins the title --> Drew wins The Royal Rumble --> Drew has wanted that title for over a year, it kept slipping from his grasp, now his biggest enemy has it, so he: --> Drew overcomes his own demons and self sabotage and focuses on WM41 title match --> Drew vs CM Punk at WrestleMania for the WHC... Drew finally wins and there is no MitB contract out there to rob him again This would give CM Punk his WrestleMania main event match... give Drew his "Mania Moment" he lost out on during the pandemic... End the story with a newly focused Drew (overcoming his hubris) beating CM Punk for the title (overcoming his main adversary and taking the title off him)
