My father (Spider R.I.P.) is the one who brought the raves to NAF in 91. I'm so glad the scene lasted over a decade.

Nice. My band used to rehearse here 3-4 nights a week. The worst was after a gig in Seattle we'd have to drive back to NAF to load in our gear back into our band room. But we'd have to cut through 7000 kids raving. I had to say "excuse me, excuse me, excuse me" 300x every trip I made from my truck back into the building to drag my bass gear back into our room lol. Cheers!

I rehearsed there in the early 90's and knew your old man. For me my memories of NAF always include Mark and Spider. Always enjoyed our conversations.

My band practiced there in early nineties. Your dad was super cool. I talked to him about music and bands all the time. Good man.

Lol.. Back there at the Beginning. I really liked your Dad. Spent like a lifetime alltogether talking to him many days in between Band Practice.. One of the most interesting, open and cool people I got to know my days in Seattle. TY for the vid. I have to admit it looks smaller than I remember.. Wishing you the BEST!

I feel like the driveway in front of the warehouse big doirs was more sloped back in those days. Seems like it's been leveled. I distinctly remember sitting outside getting air many of nights and a whole slope of kids just hanging there.

I practiced with a band there in '92 or '93. Alice in Chains and Soundgarden practiced there earlier and played shows there too. There was a burned up speaker in the office from Chris Cornell setting his guitar, pick ups side against the amp and let it feed back till the speaker caught on fire. My brother kicked Susan Silver's dog out when it ran in there. We had no idea who she was. She managed Soundgarden and I think Alice too, she dated Chris Cornell. The guy I mentioned Doc that worked there told me Man in the Box was about him. They thought it was funny his office was such a mess and was always busy. They never had money for weed and always asked him to "save them" by smoking them out. That's what he told me anyway. Sounded legit at the time. I remember walking through the early hours of the raves thinking WTF! That wasn't my thing and was way out of place

So many awesome nights...and mornings. Lol. I wish cameras would have been more main stream back then. I hardly have any record of the fun times except for what's in my head. I reme.ber there was a website called RaveShack that was posting pictures of each event but the site is no longer live. Wish I could find the guy that has them.

For sh*ts and giggles, I checked out what the value of the property is. Just shy of $2 million which is actually WAY lower than I would have figured. I may gather some friends and see what's up with maybe swooping in and buying it. I would totally throw an old school NAF party. Except that it would have to be the 20 years later version because that ish wouldn't fly anymore. NWTekno was legit. 206 Underground 4 Lyfe though.

anyone remember the old school nwtekno when it was just a message board hosted on some random site? I think around 2000 it moved to it's own site and got way bigger. The old blue screen chat room that everyone hung out in.

whoever owns it they should let a promoter come and throw a 20yr reunion party for old time sakes. Most people probably didnt get to check out the downstairs warehouse part of it. The set up use to be 3 rooms at the top level. Looking at the front entrance you would have one room to the left than another in the back area and than you had this skinny hall way that led you into the last room that you would pop into than it exited to the right side area if you were looking from outside. That hallway was where everyone sold pills at. Early 2000's they remodeled (If you want to call it that) and made it only 2 rooms from there on. one to your left that would rap around into the main room that would pop you out right where you started pretty much. Not until city of Seattle finally got what they wanted by shutting down Naft Studios did people get to check out the bottom level room. this room i never even knew existed. It was 1 floor below the top level rooms and only way to access it would be walking on basically a concrete bridge off the side of the building that looked straight down to west marginal way. too bad they never had that area opened ever except when it originally opened, until someone was all fudged up one night walking from up top and on there way to the bottom room and when walking on the concrete stairwell he fell off the side of it and landed 30 feet down on ground and i heard he died. after that incident they shut down that whole bottom area of the venue until the end of days for Raves being thrown on weeklt basis there and Mark Naft allowed the bottom room access to all candy ravers and Etards back in the days leading up to the closure, but never a lost chapter of what my comparison to a Dased and Confused Era like movie scene that will always bring a smile to me because it was a hell of a good time!

NAF was the place for so many years! My mind Is trailing off in so many directions right now. I really want to make a smart, insightful, " hindsight being '20/20'" comment, but my inner flora just can't make it happen.
