I’m kinda disappointed you didn’t cover Sucks To Be You. Obviously Disney would never approve of the song where Simon calls himself a bastard throughout the whole thing.

Yeah, sorry about that! Funny you say that though, in filming I did react to it! But I didn’t really have anything funny or of substance to say about the song or the music video unfortunately, so I just cut it from the video. I also reacted to www.nevergetoveryou but the same thing happened where I had very little to say about it.

some footnotes 1. Disney didn't make Simon and Milo/Prozzak - Disney's then label "Hollywood Records" licensed them from Sony/Epic's canadian branch 2. Hollywood/Disney relabled Prozzak as Simon and Milo due to concerns over confusion and legal action from the people behind the Prozac pill 3. Ready Ready Set Go is just a hodgepodge of songs from the albums Hot Show and Saturday People (both i highly recommend listening on their own) with the song "Get A Clue" 4. Apart from Get A Clue, Strange Disease was used as the theme song for Comedy Central's TV Movie "Porn and Chicken" (yes, that's a real tv movie - look it up) 5. Disney scrapped the cartoon because of the song Sucks To Be You 6. During and After the Misfire under Disney, Jay Levine and James McCollum formed Left Hook Music and continued Prozzak independently from Sony until their disbandment of Prozzak 2 years ago 7. Prozzak's last single before they disbanded was "Love Me Tinder" (it was an ok song tbh) 8. Prior to Disney, Their only exposure in the US was on MTV's 120 Minutes via the music video for Sucks To Be You

STRANGE DISEASE IS NOT ABOUT AN STD. The strange disease he's talking about is being lovesick / hurt / unable to move on after a break up because he wants her back. Not sure if I can take anything you said as fact after that :/

copied from a reply alec made: Yeah, I kinda got confused because the prozzak pilot that I talk about near the end is about Strange Disease, and the girl Simon is with says Simon has an STD in it, so I just figured as much, but listening to it some more, it's more about simon getting heart broken. Simon and Milo were really one of my childhood staples. I always kept Get A Clue on a loop playing Disney’s Xtreme Skate and would never get tired. Really loved all of their albums as a kid and still do ! I can relate to them more being older , 90’s - 00’s pop was really something to remember. When I found out they also went by prozzak it was one of the most confusing yet coolest moments ever. I really wish they’d come back The Forever 1999 tour just wasn’t enough ! This is a great video !!

I really enjoyed this little documentation of Prozzäk's history! I wasn't around when they were at the height of their popularity, but I did end up discovering them some years ago and totally loving their stuff (I'm very enthusiastic for '90s dance pop, and they blend it so well with pop-rock, 60s psychedelia, latin, among other things). I think I should say that the Cruel Cruel World album, which was a foray into indie rock, was a very good album. It didn't do well, and the choices with the art style were confusing, but there's really some great and underrated cuts on it like the title track, I Want to Be Loved, It's Not So Bad, Starting Over, but I'd say all of it was solid. Definitely less upbeat, but very melodic and emotive. They were a very fun and unique band, love all their stuff, and this video was really cool too, great job!!

Just caught this in 2024 and I gotta thank you for a great dive into a pretty much forgotten band. I first ran into Prozzak in my 30s when "Sucks to be you" showedbup on MTV2 on a trip to Mexico. They've been a guilty pleasure ever since and I thank you for digging into their wacky history!

Get A Clue was the Disney movie premiere that laid to rest the dumb rumors that Bug Hall (Alfalfa from The Little Rascals movie) wasn't dead. My sisters and I hated that rumor as kids and was glad it was false. We actually heard Simon and Milo/Prozzak a lot on Disney Channel (they premiered music videos like Blue Daba Dee and C'est La Vie by B*Witched which my sister and I have fond memories of) and we also fell in love with their other songs that were played all over MTV and VH1 and spread through different shows and movies at the time. We've always called them the Gorillaz before the Gorillaz existed. My sisters and I always felt like weird outsiders who were the only ones to remember this band. Glad to see your vid. I'll be sharing it with my sisters. :)
