So, battery on a single charge is nearly twice as worse than on the 4i? Those were allegedly able to last 10 hours with ANC off, 8 with ANC on.

I guess they had to remove some battery from the buds to make them smaller & then compensated with bigger battery in the case. I'm going to take a wild guess & say Huawei probably noticed from their consumer feedback data that not many people use them continuously for more than 6hrs.

The capacity of the battery inside the earbuds seem to be same as before (55 mAh), but I'm going to assume the improved NC and new speaker/mic design draw more power.

7 with ANC on actually. The battery was inevitably going to be worse since it's smaller in size and also have more features crammed in. It's actually impressive how they managed to both shrink the buds and cram in more features without affecting the battery life too much

I have the Freebuds Pro 2 and they are simply the best around. And they seem to have packed almost everything in these too. I'll probably will get one for my son.

5i are better in every aspect, except for the noise cancellation. I had the 4i and just bought the 5i and I noticed the difference right away, im honestly disappointed with the ANC it has.

@@yousufabdelrahman2538 the ANC is not as strong. With the new ones, I can still hear sounds from outside even with music playing. While with the older ones, I couldn’t hear any sounds even without music playing.

Just wanted to add that the 4i had water resistant probably nkt enough to get a badge but i used it bathing, jogging in the rain and in the gym, you also have constant sound no matter the battery life the 4i is also comparable to the Apple airpods 2nd gen the 5i would surely be better but the battery life won't be.

My freebuds 4i were glitchy, sometimes more sound comes from one side than the other, the controls sometimes just don't work unless input them back in the case and then take them out again. Became frustrating, hopefully the 5i fixes these

It is.. but the pairing would not be as seamless compared having AirPods .

I think the Pro's might be better for you since you are coming from the previous ones. They'll be better than what you already have... These might be too close to what you currently have.

@@WhatGear thanks I've not been able to find any videos on the Huawei free buds pro vs Huawei free buds pro 2 just videos on the Huawei free buds pro 2 Vs the Huawei 3i or 4i so I don't know if the free buds pro 2 are worth the upgrade maybe it's better waiting until the free buds pro 3 releases I like the Huawei free buds pro but there just not not fitting as good comperd to the free buds 3i model

Thanks for the great video, mate. For the hi res music, other than the files and the earbuds itself, would the BT version of the phone affect the sound quality as well? For example, would we need BT v5.0 compared to v4.2?

Thanks for the review. I've been waiting for these to come out globally as I have a huawei phone and I consider getting them. It is tough to tell without personal trying them on. I like a bit more bassy sound and my main daily drives are Sony wi400xb which are considered bassy but to my ears they don't down out other frequencies. Would you reckon the 5i have well expressed lows and did you find the base boost distorting the sound during your testing?

These are so cute, but unfortunately the ANC for the 4i is way better 100% 🥺 started using these today coming from the 4i’s and I’m truly disappointed 😩 it doesn’t make sense I know, but it’s true, I will definitely be returning them 😔 I’m using them on an iPhone 14 pro max by the way, the same phone I’ve been using with the 4i’s

Annoyingly they make the connection noise every time you take them out and put them back! Such an annoying feature and whoever thought that was a good idea i dont know 4i did not have this. Is there a way to switch this off?

Just noticed that. In 4i that notification sound was more quiet. On 5i it sounds at max. I hope they will release a fix for that

I would say that just do it the way you like cus you’ll never be able to satisfy each and everyone of your viewers. BUT, that’s just my point of view. Great video by the way.
