@@daddydeadpool9871 problem is that the modern "nationalism" has the same effect as being imperial peons - creating stigma. As long as people blindly react to stigma and not forethink using facts and reason people will keep making mistakes. He has actually ignored the fact that the Britishers we more interested in dividing India than uniting it, in which they succeeded to an extent. The fact that the real colonial history is not taught in the west they cannot digest that Indians themselves united when faced a common foe that were the British. Also you might look at Maurya dynasty or even Mahabharat, King Bharat, Chanakyas teaching, etc where you will find a united India, you might consider some of them as myth but the fact that these examples are thousands of years old hence they could not have been influenced by the invaders like British who had no taste of civilization then and might be roaming naked in the forest.

Just like clarify some points on India (Warning : This might trigger Indians and British Alike) 1. The reason India's system of government is so much like the British,because it was imposed upon the Indians ,as Indians didn't achieve their Independence,it was given to them as the British Empire was on decline,but the British made sure to put their Stooges in places of power in India ,like Jawaharlal Nehru ,who made sure India maintained good relations with the UK . 2. Even after Independence,most Indian suffer from inferiority complex and most don't even dislike the British ,the reason is the years brain wash ,done by the education system ,which glorified the British ,teaching Indians that the British enriched India with English,Railways and their European Culture,it taught that Indians were inferior to the Europeans ,that Indians were a backward community. So,this and a weak pro- British government caused this confusion among Indian minds. 3.Winston Churchill was considered far worse than Hitler in India. If you were a poor farm worker living in Bengal(India) you really didn't care if some guy killed 6 million Jews on the other side of the world when a fat British guy took the food away from your people and killed 4 million of your own brethren. This is why there is so much hate for Winston Churchill in India.

It hurts to hear, but as a german i kinda agree with what you say. The country and by extension the EU seem to have lost all sense of self or direction. It's actually sad and terrifying since all seems well on the surface, but i don't know how secure my future is anymore. I don't know what's on the horizon, but it feels like Europe is losing its status, wealth and identity, like there's a big storm on the horizon... Even just using the word "identity" feels like it could be offensive, as it implies being something, and the ideology of inoffensive individualism is intrinsically linked to being non-descript. A society like that can't possibly survive.
@Novumvir
@Novumvir Жыл бұрын
A society cannot survive without religion. "Religion", is a human's direction, it's what gives life its meaning, it can be more accurately defined as a "path" for life. China and Europe are places with very high rates of atheism, even though many atheists consider themselves christian in theory, but in practice they are not, which I still count as atheism. Atheism is a big sign of collapse because when nothing bonds humans to life and together, what can they do? They have less children, thus the economy falls, and thus the whole country falls because the military and police cannot be paid. America does not have that big of a problem because christianity has a stronger foothold there.

@@eran3161 This is the reality. It's not religion that holds society together, it's a moral social contract and the lack of inherent division among people, and sharing a religion is but one way of achieving that goal. It's the easiest, but also perhaps not the most healthy. ATM religion in the west, and the US, is doing more to divide rather than unite, so at the moment, it is doing more harm than good, but this is how religion is unhealthy. It works great while it's working great, but it will turn on itself at the first sign of struggle. Religion needs to love and be accepting first, before people will accept it. Pointing fingers at those outside your religion and yelling 'you are to blame' is undermining the very purpose of religion.

Consensus among Russian public intellectuals seems to be that his regime is non-ideological and flexible, focusing on internal stability of said regime and trying in futility to keep the geopolitical status quo around them. There is no ideology, no "national interests" because there is no such a thing as "Russian" in Constitution, no ambitions beyond flexing muscles. Now the generation of young bureaucrats and politicized youth is more interesting. It’s quite simple actually. It’s the ideal of libertarianism having to face the pragmatic questions raised by Robert Heinlein, and since almost all video games does not give you a middle ground for a democracy to solve the problem, people end up going fascism for the pragmatism even though they’d never do such a thing in real life.

Many smaller nations like the nordic countries would gladly give up some autonomy, in Denmark none of the eurosceptic parties have gone into parlament, exept "dansk folkeparti" but that was because they were the only ones that were hardlining against non western immigrants in 2015. And they have begun loosing power again. It would benefit trade, and militaryly, as the nordic countries can't trade internally, the ones with nationalism are bigger places like france,italy, greece(i think). Greece and italy is probably because resistance from the rest of the EU forcing responsable fiscal policy, when previous governments overspent or neglected taxation(Greece). 14:04 Agree with many of the points about India. One point where I would interject is on hindu nationalism. Hindu nationalism is indeed civilizational nationalism, not a religious one. If you read the writings of its founders, it becomes clear. The definition of "hindu" being used here is in line with what the term was used for historically and how the constitution uses it as well. 1. Before the british, and before the formalization of various religions as "-isms" in the flavor of Christianity and Islam, the term hindu was used to denote the pagans of India. No matter which gods you worshipped, which guru you followed, which sect you belonged to, you were a hindu. A negative definition - of those who were NOT christian or muslim. A positive definition was given with formalized "hindu-ism", of it being vedic dharma, including all the vedic schools of philosophies and sects. But even then, a lot of non-vedic and contradictory schools were also considered hindu, for example the 'lingayats', and even a ton of various indigenous gods and practices who had nothing to do with mainstream hinduism. That is again inline with what hindu means, bcz all the indigenous sects and distinct philosophies, all were at some point assimilated into the larger dharmic sphere by either the brahmins themselves or by the rulers of the time. For example, during the classical era, it is recorded that vedic priests used to go to these indigenous societies, and include their gods and goddesses into the larger hindu pantheon as some or the other form of avatar/variation. So that meme of 36 million or something gods, it is in reality this, that even a lot of households have ancestral family deities of their own, whom only they and their ancestors before them had worshipped. All of these different gods were eventually assimilated into the larger hindu whole, while their ways of life, practices, rituals etc. continued as is, making these various sects and schools part of the larger dharma. 2. And secondly, the constitution itself recognizes this, and states everyone to be hindu, unless specifically defined to be distinct. So for example, christians, muslims, zoarastrians, would be considered by their own religious denominations. For a long time, even jains, sikhs and buddhists were included under the term hindu. And even today, if you are an atheist in India, you are a hindu according to the constitution. Savarkar, the founder of the Hindutva ideology and hindu nationalism, goes to the lengths of finding and defining what a 'hindu' is. Coming to the same conclusion - of the people of India who dont actively subscribe to the larger global pan-islam or the global christendom. And ofcourse, since all the differences amongst the people here, through philosophies, through rituals, culture, practices, etc.(none of which we can really destroy, as it is truly what defines us), doesn't much help with political unity, Savarkar recognized a need for a common identity, and a nationalism on the back of it, if Indians/hindus are to ever stand as a singular unit and fight against our civilizational enemy. Since hindus dont have the political/congregational unity of christianity and islam, it is through a civilizational nationalistic ideology that they must come together, despite differences. A common civilizational identity, representing the longest running continous human civilization, with unique unparalleled values of religious/cultural mutual respect based coexistence, and a diversity that naturally emerges from such mutual respect, manifesting in diverse forms of languages, art, architecture, literature, philosophies, religions, music, dances, traditions, etc. So a common identity of 'hindu', representing this hindu/indian civilization was created(which is again, inline with the historic and constitutional understanding of the term 'hindu'). In this paradigm, eventually even the muslims and christians who were loyal to India and the Indian civilization, and not to the global ummah, were included in this definition. Foreigners who would adopt indic civilization as their own were to be considered a part. And while we cannot wash away these differences, some were considered to be obsolete and a hindrance to the indian society and civilization, as mentioned in Savarkar's "Seven shackles of hindu society". The caste system was one such source of differences, and Savarkar called for and worked for an end to social caste divisions. Hindu nationalism today is THE biggest anti-caste movement in India. Other anti-caste movements are usually hostile towards people's culture, religion, identities and traditions, they are aggressive and try to instill hatred amongst people for their gods, their practices, culture, people etc. And would also want to convert them into either christianity or islam or some kind of revolutionary marxist atheism on back of this resentment. People by and large, even from lower classes(who form the masses), are not looking for this and dont like this. They love their gods, their culture and ways. They simply want to be treated with dignity and equality and feel included. This is EXACTLY what hindu nationalism provides. Hindu nationalists are a fairly conservative people, who advocate for tradition, culture, religiosity etc. but also work against social divides based on caste and class lines. While Savarkar wanted to get everything done in his lifetime and went out of his way to arrange inter-dining, and mixing of people of different castes, for which he recd. massive backlash from some sections of the society as well, RSS/BJP's philosophy is more practical, and they say that real positive social change takes time and in this vain, RSS also arranges activities and events for intermixing of various groups, while giving representation and advocacy to the lower sections of society, uniting all of them under the common larger 'hindu' identity(rather than staying divided in their own caste/regional/ethnic identities) and making them feel included and a part of it. The BJP actively works in formulation and implementation of social inclusion schemes of all sorts, truly give representation to backward sections of society, and also works in formulation of economic schemes targeted at these sections, as without economic independence and power, no real change is possible. This is precisely why hindu nationalists are doing incredible in the democratic processes of India(which are dominated by these same lower class masses), and will continue to dominate in the foreseeable future, despite the ill-informed perceptions and cluelessness around hindu nationalism in the rest of the world.

You are on point about the inferiority complex. But even though the genetic argument is indusputable the problem with the Aryan Invasion Theory is the word 'Invasion'. I'm afraid I would have to disagree as a Filipino, those who pay attention to the subtle influences from before Magellan Philippines already has (and is still around today) would realize the truth of what I'm saying, it's not obvious but someone who pays much attention to it would realize it. I see the Philippines more of as a place where different cultures from different parts of the world have ended up clustering and mixing together than really being part of Latin America. I guess it somewhat applies to the majority of the Philippines to an extent, but I fail to see for example how the Ifugaos and Moros in Mindanao would have much in common with the people in Latin America. I myself have a much harder time personally relating to them than most of you. (It's easier for me relating to our neighbors in Asia than fellow former colonies that are literally on the other side of the world)

Excellent, as usual. In your discussions on European history and nationalism, there was one concept I was looking for but didn't see. I will have to paraphrase it, but the concept is that Europeans saw nationalism as the cause of WW2 and therefore it's bad. Americans saw nationalism as what allowed them to rally to win WW2 and therefore it's good. Obviously, there are many other factors, but that one seems fundamentally sound to me, being an American who has lived in Europe for a decade.

yes, its the most basic pattern: the winner gets to write history, I've even seen a recent trend in america were communism is now tolerated, not surprising considering most of the "social justice" (or "woke") ideologist lean towards communism, no one seems to care about the crimes against humanity committed by communism which by any scientific metric are worse than 1940s germany or any other ideology... I've seen Jordan Peterson speak about this dynamic and he is worry that we are heading towards a "Wiemar republic situation".... but he is considered an "ultra right wing extremist"...

@@danyks4847 It was not communism that did those crimes. It was Stalin, it was Mao. Under communism there is no state, no money and people are not divided into classes. Communism as you see doesn't lead to crimes, it is just an ideology. Also, both USSR and China were never communist and even they identified as socialist, not communist. In fact there never was any country in history that was communist. However Stalin and Mao commited crimes not in the name of communism, but in the name of themselves and what would be the best for them.

I somewhat disagree. To be called or labeled as a “nationalist” in America is seen as an insult in mainstream media. Usually used by the left as a softer version of “white-supremacist.” I think the west synthesizes their history (as we see in how we’re taught history 1500s and up) as one instead of recognizing it as being parallel and spectate but influential on one another. I think it’s evident that America feels guilt for a lot of things Europeans did during Crusades, colonialism, ww2 etc… same goes for Europe in a reciprocating fashion as well. I think European media feels a sense of guilt or shamefulness for many things America has done like wars in the Middle East, slavery+segregation, American Imperialism, and especially the expansion of the American global economy. America has disdain for Europe being its parent just as Europe has disdain for America being its child.

In belgium the current radical party that would push the anti-immigrant ideology has only seen succes on the flemish side. But all other parties, including their ideological brother, refuse any cooperation (since you cant work with them) and in flanders there also the idea of a free flanders which also support the same far right. Yet up until now the extreme hasnt been able to get into office simply because of majority rejection. And thats talking from a nation thats honestly messy. I carefully watched this video with great interest. Taking on the topic of the future of global ideology in a brief video is certainly an ambitious task. Of necessity, you have used a rather broad brush here. The sprinkling of names, dates, published facts and data is helpful. However, your summations and interpretations of this information come across more as speculation and conjecture, rather than as a robust and well-founded analysis. True experts and academics in the field would likely come to a host of different conclusions regarding many of the opinions you've offered. This video is concise and entertaining enough for the KZbin audience. Yet, I find this presentation is best described as a bumper sticker version of "The Future of Ideology." One of the serious drawbacks of online forums is that they too often become a community exchange of collective ignorance. We can have sound and well-researched professional journalism, or we can have the democratization of information where everyone is a presumed authority... but we can't have both.

It's also a relief to hear someone on the center-right acknowledge the issues with the right-wing backlash to the left's dissent into madness (even the more reasonable centrists, like JP's tribe, as well as the incels and actual nazis)

The next 80 years is going to be very interesting that's for sure, I just hope it isn't too bloody and we come out all the better on the other side. Hearing Altists doom prophecy for Europe is somewhat worrying since I live there, society needs to restructure itself to allow more kids to be born, but I'm not sure how it can do that without being terrible for women, perhaps technology will save the day once more.

@M As a devout Christian, I would disagree. I understand Saad's point: The video's understanding of why Jesus was crucified and the centrality of his teaching is off. He was killed for speaking Heresy. Love thy neighbor is only the second greatest of his commandments. Though as the video states correctly, many in the West tend to piece together whatever they like about religion.

This is an interesting point, and is almost universally overlooked as anything but a cheap jab. Why are so many young men not finding mates? Maybe we've made some pretty seriously screwed up decisions on a societal level, like demonizing men in general, introducing estrogens into plastics, normalizing hypergamy etc. But you cannot mention this without getting another cheap jab, or getting preached at. Just to be clear, I'm not alt right, but I can see the societal shifts that have created their disposition, and how instead of trying to help them society seems far more eager to poke and humiliate and shame and hurt them even further.

Machiavelli is one of the most misunderstood writers of all time, partly because he's heavily slandered but mostly because of linguistic drift. When you actually read The Prince and read the part about being feared vs being loved, the more modern interpretation of what he meant by "fear", in context, would be respect. It's better to be respected than loved.
