I'm pretty sure the reason they did this now (instead of for Halloween) is because Layne and Tony had built that forest inside PattyCake's studio for the latest installment of their "Villain's Lair" and figured it would be the perfect time to further the 'grundels' story instead of having to build another indoor forest at another time.

That and last year the full In The Hall of The Mountain King was also not for Halloween. It was released right before and people were confused. But the actual Halloween one last time was Hide and Seek. Still, also including Night on Bald Mountain in this...

Fantastic creatures are not just for Halloween. Even when their original video (Hall of the Mountain King) came out, it wasn’t their Halloween video that year. Here’s a thought that will boggle your mind - remember when Cesar stole the other voices to sing low and then high? Well, the high was Rachel, but the low voice was actually Layne!

I remember reading that Layne originally sang bass before moving to BeatBoxing. It's nice to hear him still work the bass.

Fun fact we learned today, when Cesar changes voices magically, that isn't actually Geoff's voice he has, I mean it's supposed to give that illusion but guess who actually sang that low part...........LAYNE! Great reaction as always! I knew that you would find this one fun!

They have been trying to get Rachel back for ages; this may have been the only window of opportunity they had. I wouldn't have put it in the Halloween category necessarily, except for the fire skull. Some people do Christmas in July, maybe they wanted early Halloween. Doesn't matter, this was really, really brilliant, beginning to end!

I don’t think of this as Halloween. I thought of it as band and choir kids inventing their own fairytales 😂 I enjoyed the buggsbunny/ Elmer Fudd operas as a small child. I am loving these as an adult.😊 Thank you for your reaction. If you watch other reactions, catch Klown. He is a beatboxer and he notices things Layne does the way you notice what Geoff does with his voice.❤

To meet, this is classic Layne. He appears to have an affection for outlandish characters and monsters, and typically seems upbeat to me. I hope he does more in this vein. One thing is certain - no one else is doing it, and it would be very tough to replicate. Doing gamer songs is easier because the plot and characters are already there. Inventing it all from scratch and doing a medley from the infinite number of classical clips they could use? Very, very difficult.

Yep, that nod back to last year's "monster mashup"! I have seen several reactors do this one & didn't even know, or remember the same costumes from Mountain King... Thanks for your reaction! It was my understanding that Tony and Layne worked very hard hauling trees and building a forest inside PattyCake's studio for an episode of their 'Villain's Lair' internet program and wanted to do this one now while they had the set. Also, Rachel was available now to do the part.

I love the carrot Easter egg .. if you watch Layne’s part you will notice the flame is orange but it gets a tint of green , both colors together for a second look like a carrot 😂

So many of the pieces used in this mash-up are old favorites of mine. VP did wonders with them. There were two bits from operas that normally have lyrics, but seeing as how *both* of them are also frequently performed as parts of symphonies based on operas, I'm happy to "Overlook" the missing lyrics.

I love this! The only thing I would've done differently is to use Elizabeth Garozza. Don't get wrong, I love Rachel. But for THIS piece, with its classical base and style, I feel Elizabeth's voice would've been better suited. Her voice has a more classical sound, and her high notes are just amazing. Just my opinion...
