A reoccurring theme and huge part of Wukong's personality throughout The Journey to the West is he desires freedom and to do his own thing - he doesnt give a fuck about any authority. The Celestial Court and other immortals are always trying to tie him down or restrain him in some way him but he always rises above it (even if it takes being trapped for hundreds of years).

I'm part Chinese. Journey to the West was a GIGANTIC part of my childhood. Even named of my Starfield ships after the White Bone Spirit. The success of BMW pissed off a lot of western "gamers" and "journalists" that have never read any of the JotW stories because the game itself got really... REALLY close to the source material; from the character designs to the settings. BMW is how a game SHOULD be done... BUT, you know... western game dev studios and all that.

dont think its because they hate the story more so because 1 it puts them to shame as its so much better than what they could make the same way balders gate 3 pissed of alot of devs and 2 because they wouldnt bend the knee and add in diversity stuff as they wanted to tell the story as it is and not dilute it with current events

Before you said this I was thinking the studio booth, cause Sun Wukong can make clones that can transform into anything just like him, so he could jump you by himself, or in the context of rapping drop a cypher where he's every verse.

Black myth wukong has been the most enjoyable ass-whooping I’ve ever experienced 😂 currently on the final boss of chapter 2, have killed all the other 16 bosses/mini-bosses of chp 2 and killed all chp 1 bosses (including the secret red dragon)
