To answer your question: yes this was Blitzo, this was his early design, before Helluva Boss was created. You can also spot Loona's early design in Charlies song ^^. One more cool detail is that Alastors song is a 180 of Charlies song.

Lilith is apocryphal at best. Most times it’s mentioned is as a demon, which are exclusively fallen angels. Apparently only one writing that seems to have been written between 700-1,000 A.D. insinuated it was the second Human while Eve was the third. In regards to Sir Pentious, why he didn't leave when he saw Alister there, he was specifically looking for him. I always viewed the dynamic between them like, Alister being the type to believe in making yourself stronger where Sir Pen always relied on his intellect and various machinery to get the job done. Sir Pentious is older too, having died in the 1890's I believe, so I'm sure there's some resentment in regards to this young upstart making a name for himself while he's reduced to a laughing stock.

Alastor died in 1933 while being in his early '30's Sir Pentious Died in 1888. He was meant to be a one off villain that wouldn't show up again but was added to the show itself as the Hotel's second patron. Apparently the relationship between the two will be explored in the show itself

Some additional details: Hazbin Hotel came first before Helluva Boss, that's why you've seen proto-Blitzo there. I think Hazbin Hotel was supposed to be the main show in the Vivziepop channel but because it got picked up by a studio, she pushed on making the spin-off, Helluva Boss. From what I've heard during the time when there are only pilots from both shows, while the show shares the same universe, it focuses on two different things. Hazbin Hotel would focus on change and redemption while Helluva Boss would focus on what was already in Hell. So, Hazbin Hotel's characters will be mostly about humans-turned-demons while Helluva Boss' characters will be mostly about demons-borns --- Since they both share the same universe, Helluva Boss have some references about Hazbin Hotel. Episode 2: Loo Loo Land is the one with the numerous amount of it. Octavia mentioning Lucifer's name when she asked if Loo Loo Land was a shameless spin-off of Lucifer's Lu Lu World and when Robotic Fizzarolli was singing, he sat on a piano and copied Charlie's "I have a dream, I'm here to tell" after saying "no copyright infringement ever seen" 😅

Well Charlie is daughter of Lillith and Lucifer, who both started somewhere else and then went or were sent to hell - Lucifer was an angel and Lillith was something like first woman. There are theories about heaven, that say that heaven is corupted and might not be much better than hell. There are also speculations that Vaggie might be an angel because in one teaser it looks like she has wings, and her weapon looks like the one angels use during the cleanse. Also most of the voiceactors have been replaced, like Charlie's, Alastor's, Angel's, Husk's and more (also Katie Killjoy will be voiced by Brandon Rogers, Blitzo's voiceactor). You can watch the trailer for season one, there are almost all of the new voices for the main cast. (btw sorry for my bad english)

Also all info used is before the Hazbin trailer came out. 0:51 Of the 2 other shadows one is Lucifer himself but the other with horns might be Saten the Sin of Wrath but that's speculation. 1:23 If you check out the trailer there's a better look but those angels are the Exorcist, the ones participating in the cleanse mainly hunting Sinners. 2:02 Here are 3 important Sinners (Overlords), Carmela Carmine, Zestial, and Missy Zilla, with Lucifer at the back. Maybe they're body guards or lieutenants of some kind, from just some speculation and background details Missy Zilla has some type of kaiju fighting ring and Carmella is the one making blessed weapons "blessed tip Carmine rifle" that Striker had. 2:05 Vox, Velvet, Valentino, the three V's are high end Overlords. Vox basically owns all television (has beef with Alastor) and Valentino brought in the age of adult films and Velvet brought in the age of the internet as they each died at the perfect moment to bring these things from Earth to hell. Vox and Val might be in love of some kind and Velvet is like Vox's adopted daughter. 2:08 Val is actually AngelDust boss and as you saw in "Addict" his forceful "lover"... Here he sent out AngelDust on the street to get more money despite being so close to the cleanse being over. 2:08 Demons collecting left behind angel weapons that are used or melted down to make the blessed weapons. Yeah, there are a few things to note about how Hell works in this universe. Firstly there are two major types of demons. The first are Sinners, who are humans who have been damned to Hell after death. When they arrive in Hell they gain a demonic form that usually reflects how they died and is designed to make them hate how they look. Alastor is a notable example, seeing how his demon form is that of a deer, referencing how he died in a deer hunting related accident. Sinners cannot reproduce, are confined to the Pride Ring of Hell and are biologically immortal. The only way they can be killed is through the use of blessed weapons, which angels use during the Extermination, explaining why Hell is so overcrowded. The second type of Demons are Hellborn, which are exactly what they sound like. These are demons that were born in Hell. They vary a lot depending on how high up the hierarchy they are, but the lower classes are able to be killed with regular weaponry, whilst royals need the blessed weapons described before. Charlie is the only Hellborn in the main cast of Hazbin, but the sister series, Helluva Boss focuses a lot more on how the lower and upper classes of Hellborn live in this world. The Hierarchy of Hell basically works like this, from highest to lowest: 1. Lucifer. A fallen Angel. The King of Hell and the Sin of Pride. 2. Lilith. The First Woman and Lucifer’s wife. The Queen of Hell 3. Charlie Morningstar. Their daughter. A smol bean. 4. The remaining Six Members of The Seven Deadly Sins. Asmodeus. Satan. Leviathan. Mammon. Beelzebub. Belphegor. They each run a ring of Hell, kinda like Dante’s Inferno. 5. The Ars Goetia. A collection of 72 noble Demon families with very strong magic and rigid sensibilities. 6. Overlords. Powerful demons who have come into being by providing necessary advancements to Hell. Alastor is the Overlord of Radio, because he brought the idea of radio with him to Hell when he died. 7. Sinners. Described above. 8. Hellborn demons. 9. Imps and Hellhounds. The lowest of the low. Often working class or even slaves.

FYI the reason why Angel Dust has so many arms is because he's a Spider Demon... When he was alive he was part of a MOB family, but since he was Gay and unhappy he overdosed on drugs and is probably the reason he went to hell when he died, other than killing people when he was alive.

She is the princess of Hell because she’s the daughter of Lucifer and Lilith. Lucifer is an angel or fallen angel to be exact, so Charlie is part angel. Lilith was Adam’s first wife. Charlie is actually the 3rd most powerful in hell. Her parents are the absolute rulers of hell, and have the power to back it up, so I’m assuming when and if Charlie were to go all out she would be a force to be reckoned with. Also, Charlie and Vaggie are indeed dating. Vivziepop has confirmed on several occasions and it’s pretty clear in the trailer, so ignore anyone that says otherwise. Another thing, you need to get the idea that everyone in hell is inherently evil out of your head as well. We’ve seen in Helluva Boss that not all demons are inherently evil. Take Moxxie for example, he is very kindhearted and has strong morals. Yes his job is murder, but he doesn’t revel in bloodshed and destruction. Not to mention his relationship with Millie is probably the most wholesome relationship in the entire show. They aren’t evil, they just happened to be born in hell. You’ll see as we continue both series that some hellborn demons can actually be good people.

Nice reaction! Btw, Hazbin Hotel is set in the Pride Ring (where IMP’s office building is located at). The Pride Ring is where every sinner (demon who was once a human) are at. They physically cannot leave Pride to visit any other rings. As we’ve seen in Helluva, they can visit whatever rings they want to, we’ve already seen most in the show. So whenever hell born demons are in a different ring, any character you see is hell born. And most characters you see in Pride (and this show), are sinners. This is due to them being hell born. Difference between the shows is that Hazbin focuses on sinners (aside from Charlie, who’s hellborn), and Helluva has hellborns. IMP’s business is located in Pride because of course, their clients are sinners, since they have a human they want revenge on. And Pride is the only place their clients reside. However, although not said or shown yet, during the annual cleansing, hell born demons who live in Pride, would probably evacuate to avoid the Angels killing. But we won’t see this in Helluva most likely because the show’s plots won’t diverge even tho they’re set in the same universe because one is by Amazon.

Yes, that was Blitz’s showing up in the background of Charlie’s speech, or rater… a prototype version of him. You can also spot a prototype versión of Loona during the song “Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow”, more specifically in the part where Charlie sings “Inside every sinner is a shining smile”. And you can even spot Moxxie’s silhouette in the “Boo Section” of the News Station (it’s right after Charlie finishes her song and everyone is laughing at her). Side Note: Nope, Vaggie is not Mexican, she’s Salvadoran/Salvadoreña (from El Salvador) which is also the country from where Vivziepop’s family comes from. Charlie’s Mom is Lillith, Adam’s first wife (before Eve) who was made from mud just like her male counterpart but… who later would be exiled from the Garden of Eden for refusing to submit to Adam. She was then welcomed by Lucifer into Hell, becoming his consort and the first human turned Demon. Charlie’s angelic side comes from her father actually, because Lucifer used to be an Angel before becoming the King of Hell.

Yay, glad you enjoyed it! I still love this pilot so much, fingers crossed that the show can match its energy. The original idea for Hazbin was that Lucifer has a daughter and she's the princess of Hell; to his embarrassment she turns out to be a Disney princess. I wonder if little demon birds will fly around her as she sings :) Yeah I think you're right about the standardized "radio voice" accent Alastor uses; it's so cool that you can often tell how old a sinner is from their design and speech. Sir Pentious feels like some kind of 19th century steampunk mad scientist to me, Angel Dust is an earlyish 20th century mobster, and the TV announcer guy probably died in the WWI trenches because his head is now a gas mask. We've been told that Alastor and Stolas are about equal in power in their own ways, though I'm sure they will never meet because the shows are being kept separate. It's a good question about why Sir Pentious knowingly attacks Alastor. My guess is that he thinks he's a worthy rival, but Alastor thinks of the snake as an entertaining toy to play with and never truly unleashes full power on him. (There's an extra little scene after the pilot credits showing that he survived.)

It’s interesting you mention the Shadowman because Alastor is suppose to have been from New Orleans which has big ties to voodoo and such. Cool! So, first of.... Yes.... This is the first video. Hazbin and helluva wouldn't exist if this pilot wasn't so good.... That's why, yes, that's the blitz character-and the Luna character. This started EVERYTHING. And it's also the intro to the power system which most dumbasses STILL don't understand..... This isn't a music video for us, Charlie is so powerful that she can warp reality for the sake of her song..... The power scaling in this show is solid, but not well explained... Cause, well, figure it out!

This comment is not for the faint of heart warning! Another neat fact about Alister is when he was alive, he was a radio host in the 1930s and lived in New Orleans at the time. He made a deal with another demon while he was alive causing him to rise in power faster than any other human that came to hell. Before he died, he was a cannibal (killed and ate his victims) and when he disposed of the rest of their bodies he dressed as a Windigo (a deer like creature) and buried them in the woods. The "X" on his forehead shows where he was shot (time stamp: 34:50) dressed as the Windgo by a hunter thinking he was a deer, explaining his deer like appearance in the show. Also Angel Dust's whole family is there too, his family was a mob family when they were alive as well and he had died from you guessed it the drug Angel Dust. The demons that were originally humans, their forms portray who they were in their life before they died. For example; Angel Dust's family demon forms portray spiders, Vaggie's form portrays a moth, Katie Killjoy a pray mantis, Tom Trench a gas mask from WWI, and so on.

At the level we've so far seen, Hell is about making it so you can't get away from every consequence of every single mistake you make, but nobody's stopping you from making those mistakes. Heaven is about telling you what the mistakes are and not tolerating any in the first place. As much of a shithole the Hell seen here is, it also seems capable of progress: most of the more experienced demons have gone through enough unexpected disasters to have learned triage thinking. You repeatedly see all the emotional reactions superceded by a now-ingrained "assess all the damages, sort out what I can't fix and what I have to fix NOW, we can respond to what we're feeling right after the important matters are done with." A consequence is that many of the more powerful demons are sort of safe to be around by now simply because they're learned the very long and hard way what about their personal inclinations just doesn't work. (Not all.) It's not the nicest way to learn the concept of "safe, sane, and consensual", but it does seem effective. While I would expect at higher ranks than we've so far seen angels would have some understanding of why their rules work, in this setting the maxim of "success is a poor teacher" seems to hold up.

Dave, take a lot of the information here with a grain of salt. Now that the actual show has come out, a lot of it is inaccurate at best. There's some good information but also half truths and pure rumor as well. Can;t wait for you to react to the series though, so far it is amazing.

Have to say: I think Charlie's redesign for hte show proper was a downgrade. She had a nice colour balance and looked "too nice for hell". Now it's red overkill and she looks like, say, an evil young businesswoman. (I find it ironic that she was made red overkill, Alastor rocks red and bblack and gets white added). Also, still don't like that Viv didn't even ask Michael Kovack (Angel's VA) and hte others if htey wanted to apply for role reprisal.

Michael and the others would really, really like people to stop complaining about the Hazbin recast and move on; it's extremely normal for voice actors to change between a show's pilot and the main episodes, and in this case they were prioritizing singing ability. Continuing to focus on this imagined insult to them does them a disservice. Michael is now in new animated shows like The Amazing Digital Circus, Lackadaisy and Murder Drones - let's appreciate his talent there instead and give the new voices for Hazbin a chance. Blake Roman sounded awesome in the "Poison" song.

Unfortunately the pilot is no longer canon to the Hazbin Hotel franchise. However, it should give you an idea for some characters and the general idea of the show coming out. This goes with any additional content like the Addict music video.

I’m pretty sure Vivzie said that the _events_ in the Hazbin Hotel pilot are still considered canon. However, some of the visual elements have changed from the Pilot to the series (character designs, the way the hotel looks, how Pentagram City looks, etc.) so the _visuals_ in the Pilot aren’t fully canon anymore. 😊
