One of the things I appreciate about TFE is finding and bringing to light amazing individuals like this who've made a massive contribution to history but have been over looked or forgotten.

Love to see the faces of the Germans when Bullard came out for the Christmas Truce, knowing most them never saw a black man and here he comes fluently speaking German.

To be honest with you Hollywood would screw this up because as unbelievable as it is and how fun it would be to see here is an example on how bad they would screw it up. when audy Murphy was making his movie about his time in the service Hollywood told him to tone it back quite a bit because it seemed too unrealistic , even though he was acting out what he did in the service. So yeah they would screw up the movie on Bullard

I mean they put realistic exploits in the new midway movie and people were freaking out saying it wasn't believable, so in a way Hollywood is right

@@ilovejettrooper5922 like when the bomber was diving at the carrier and the guy hopped into the rear gunner seat of one of the planes on deck to shoot down the bomber. People were criticizing it for being unrealistic but that actually happened. (I apologize for being vague, its been a while since I read up on the pacific theater and dont remember the names of people and things.)

Is this not one of the most amazing stories ever!?! The definition of heroism and courage. 😭❤️😭🇺🇸 The ONLY thing that could have made this more beautiful, is if he could have rekindled with his father. His father did the best he could for his kids. I’m sure he was heartbroken not knowing what happened to his son. 💔😭

I was married for 10 years. Had two kids. Divorced and then five years later let their mom move back in. Basically just roommates. But we have been around each other's entire families since I was 12 and she was 10.

Hollywood has never and I mean NEVER done justice to any military hero ever. They even told Audie Murphy to hold back when he depicted himself in the movie "To Hell and Back ". His own life story. They intentionally toned down the story of Desmond Doss, "Hacksaw Ridge". Their reasoning (or excuse)has always been that people would not believe the truth and then they make movies like Harry Potter. It's almost criminal.

His story would be a great series as most good stories are today and since the reason I've found no movie has been made about Bullard is he's not widely known but I'd guarantee a big budget movie would follow a well produced series I've never heard of him but what a life

You said it but as an IT professional I will say it again. BACK UP YOUR DATA. If you don't then one day when your hard drive fails you'll come to me or someone like me begging for a data recovery because you lost the only pictures anyone has of Grandma. I'll try my best but data recovery is pretty lucked based and when I can't do it I'll suggest you go to a data specialist that is going to charge you at least $1000 maybe more. I've seen more or less that exact story play out literally dozens of times.
