Hi everyone ! thanks for stopping by again.
After being off site for a while getting to spend some time with my baby boy. I eventually had to come back to work.
Unfortunately my room i had for 10 years since they built it got taken off me. So i thought id show you what the other rooms look like, as they can be all different depending where you are.
Hope you enjoy it and gives you a bit more of an idea of our lives living away from home.

They should have a cupboard in the room that you can lock your stuff up in . Not as much room but def will have something 👍

Firstly thanks for a great video and really helpful channel. Excuse my ignorance and silly questions as I'm starting to look into FIFO work potentially as a dump truck driver. I always just assumed that you were allocated a different vacant room each time you longed onto a shift, is that not the case? Do they give you your own room for the length of your employment and for the week or 2 weeks you are off it just lies vacant?

Hi there sorry for delay enjoying a nice holiday for the first time in a long time with family. yes if you are permanent depending on company you should keep your own room , depending on roster ours has changed so only 2/1 swing staff keep their permanent room and no one else can go in it while you are out on r&r which is a nice feeling . after 3months straight holidays they can kick you out of that room which happened to me after 7 years in th zone room and i had my son so had 3 months off and only 1 week over and i had to store all my stuff in cupboards and get a whole new room which is older and not as nice but at least mine now . shorter rosters they generally will HOTEL your room for shut staff and ive heard some bad stories especially if cleaners are crap on site as well . @@34Media Thank you for your help, just one other thing. If they don't give you a permanent room and you aren't in a hotel. Do they give you a permanent locker or cupboard or somewhere safe to store your items??

yeah , Ive definitely had worse to stay in especially once you've been in them a while and have em nice and clean!

@@kt34baseball35 yeah we do have good rooms, my last one was a little bigger bathroom less storage in main room tho good to come home after shift and know you have your place to switch off

Geez nice room bud. Mine is 4mx4m with a shared bathroom... And no where near as nice as that bathroom either.

it took me a month of cleaning to get it to a nice clean room. this is a big room on site. We get them here after 1.5 years on site if lucky maybe 2 years heaps nicer to live in .

i take 3 bags 10 kg when ever i fly up lol, you can take as many bags as you like as long as under 10 kg after first !😏
