Never second looked these till I took my AT in for a service and got one as a courtesy bike, absolutely loved it and blasted it all over the Trough of Bowland. It never skipped a beat.

I love my Kawasaki z400 and have just bought a Triumph Speed 400. They are very different bikes to ride as one is twin and other a single but both great fun. I don’t feel safe going much above the speed limit, just because the roads are shocking, car drivers drive with their head up their bum and there are so many speed cameras.

I utterly agree about bikes of this sort of power level, so much fun on the backroads. Am glad you got some R&R and C&C.

Still have my monkey for fun but took the new Triumph 400x out for test at the weekend, could be my new steed, perfect power for my needs and longer rides, cannot be bothered with fast bikes i ache too much to enjoy them.

You're right about the roads !....I'm thinking of swapping from roadbike to something more adventurey ....never seen so many ruts and potholes in roads especially in country lanes ,then there's mud and gravel plus rain to cope with .. Great video mate .

I got the rebel cmx 500 and it’s a year old this July and I have done just under 4000 miles on it, as you say it’s a perfect bike for the back roads and here in Norfolk it mostly these roads,my last bike was getting to heavy for me and was a virago 750 , but this little rebel 500 is just the bike for me after some mods like forward controls and a all in one seat , it’s easy to manoeuvre around and great fuel economy and cheaper to tax and insurance, it was a no brainier for me and probably the best bike I have ever bought.

Not great times myself lately but 2 hours around the Dartmoor lanes the other evening on my CB500F did the job. I still can't get over how light and easy to handle it is after my lardy old Bandit.

Agree the Honda 500 series is a good little engine, my CB500X does everything I need it to do, although I have just picked up a new bike, Sinnis terrain 125 for shits and giggles.

Once I rebuilt my CLs forks to actually provide some damping, it has certainly become my favourite bike. I have sold my 500F and DR650, it’s my all road bike. In fact I prefer the CL on dirt roads than the DR

Looking forward to your CL vs NX review. I have both a CL and CB500X and i actually feel the CL is more fun to ride - seems quicker - but that’s down to the setup or sprocket sizing i guess

Right now I'm weighing between this and the Triumph 400x Scrambler.
@pielight744924 күн бұрын
Had same dilemma till I text rode the CL...I didn't even bother test riding the 400x as I'm certain it's single engine couldn't compete with the twin (power delivery and lack of vibes) and I loved how the honda rode and smoothed out extremely rough/subsided) pot holes lanes. Also the aspect of well proven motor versus brand new unproven motor, so despite the great looks of the triumph, it was an easy choice in the end. My new CL arrived today at the dealer and I'll pick it up once prepped.
@BMRTV24 күн бұрын
@@pielight7449 I just came back from the Honda dealer. The SCL (in the US) looks a lot better in person than the videos I've seen. I do wish the tank had some kind of shape to it, but overall I love the cool/cruise vibe it gives off.
@pielight744924 күн бұрын
@@BMRTV I found it exactly the same...when I first saw photos and videos, frankly I thought it looked hideous, but as you said, it looks great in the flesh....and it rides even better. The only real downside for me is lack of rev counter (which won't bother some), but I can live with it, or there are a couple of solutions to it.

I went to see a second hand 400x and it wasn't good . Paint wearing on the side panels and generally looking shabby compared to the honda.

I’m curious about the comparison and contrast between the cl500 and the triumph 400x. 🤔
@ferkuzuel28 күн бұрын
The 400x, feels more like a thumper in a good way, the engine has some characteristics of a dual sport, in a good way, the engine on the cl500 feels more smooth, almost like a likes a cruiser the ride also feelssofter in a good way, I tested both bikes and ended up with the cl500
@leeinwis28 күн бұрын
@@ferkuzuel I wa sthinkin of gettin the CL500 and makin more like single cylinder by a new exhaust, KandN filter ,premium gas .Whadya think ?
@ferkuzuel27 күн бұрын
@leeinwis I think The cl500 has good room for customization, if you like that, There are some exhaust systems out there for this bike, also there is a shop out of Thailand called K-speed who has done some customization out of the cl500, you can check out some of their videos

Common disease all over the western world that the roads just don't appear to be maintained anymore. Where's all those road and fuel taxes being syphoned off to?! Went for a two hour 'walk' on the Rebel 500 yesterday and my arse still feels like a porn star's! We'll all end up on allroaders soon just to avoid spinal injuries.
