Whats better than 1 Ice Vtx?

What’s better than 1 ice VTX? 2 Ice VTX I met a stranger, Mr. S., on the Neuse River trail and he had a black ice VTX. After we finished talking we agreed that we would ride together. Well, watch what happens. I could tell immediately that this guy was that Mr. S was a strong cyclist. My cousin and I rode about 34 miles that day, and we got on the Neuse River Trail on a place called Anderson point. We rode down to though the southern part of the trail which takes you through a place called Clayton North Carolina. We were fortunate to ride on a brand new constructed portion of the Neuse River Trail which takes you to Parkview. The trail was a little muddy in places because it rained on Friday night early Saturday morning. Where the video picks up It was 11am and about 45 to 50°, which is the coldest temperature I’ve ridden in since I’ve had my Ice VTX recumbent Trike. What’s funny about this particular ride is how my cousin responded when he caught up with me after my wine-down of chasing Mr. S. If you enjoyed this video feel free to check these 2 short videos.

Nice ride and video George! But....no griping about the temperature. The last four days I have ridden with the temp between 26-35. Fleece suits and compression padded fleece socks do the trick.woke up this morning 6 am to the sound of a snow plow scraping my street....so no ride today! Started packing for an early departure to Florida....hopefully Saturday. Will be in touch in the way down. Stay well

@@themotivatedrider3840, George, you don't have to change trikes, at great cost, to achive better performance and comfort. If you need a higher gear, for top speed, look at changing out your largest gear ring, at the crank. You could also looks at changing your tires, to help increase your top speed. You've already eliminated a lot of weight by removing that trunk. Are you clipped in? If not, you should consider clipless pedals. The total cost of these suggested changes will not approach the cost of changing VTX models. Finally, you could put a carbon fiber seat on your trike, and further eliminate excess weight......or you can just enjoy it, exactly the way it is presently configured. ;)

Looks like a nice trail. Not much trike footage though. Mr. S dropped you and you dropped your chase camera. That's OK, it worked out in the end. Not sure if you and your cousin are doing any structured training to improve your fitness, but I'd like to suggest a resource that has helped me. www.coach-hughes.com/index.html Coach Hughes is old school in his approach, but his articles and methods are clear and easy to understand. You can take what you learn there and go to the next level. If you're not ready to invest in or don't have the budget for the equipment needed in programs like TrainerRoad or The Sufferfest, its a good starting point. When you want to commit to the next level, TrainerRoad is excellent.

When you ride like that you need to stay right on that guys rear wheel, he will be the one pushing all the wind while you take advantage of his draft. It looked like he was pushing a big gear I wonder if he had pedal assist?

We are riding again today, so I will take advantage of the draft, and I don’t think he had pedal assist. Mr S was like a kid with a brand new toy on christmas. : ,)
