@@dennis78382 ~ They roost and nest in trees...Google/Search tree duck...It's another name for Black-bellied Whistling-duck~~Cool videos and life style. Have you been to the Memorial Park across from Rockport Post Office. Go to the parking lot all the way to the back...there's a big pond with a deck to feed the turtles.

Yes ma'am. I have been there often and done many videos from the pond. I am familiar with wood ducks. Many people left the name of the duck when I first posted and I looked them up and read about them. I had just never seen a duck in a tree before.

That little pamphlet was frightening. It just said since it was vacuum packed you should let it air out a few days in a well ventilated area. Then it went on to list all of the horrible things that could happen if you didn't. 😀

That was an interesting find! 🦆🌳 Thanks for taking us to the old Rockport rail depot. Really sad that Harvey damaged it after it had been restored. It looks in rough shape now, but hopefully the historical people will fix it up. Nice of Jeff and Tom to send you gifts! Glad the worst of the hail storms missed your area and that you stayed safe in the truck. And thanks for the always lovely looks at the water and the sunsets. I've never seen a duck in a tree either. But I know they do. I love the things you point out Dennis, never would had noticed. Here's another new thing ,I think .... I have never seen a dog in a tree either...untill I had one, who surprised me. And would climb the trees to get the squirrels and to look over the fence. She would go up to 10 ft up. Chow / shephard/ english bulldog mix. She also played snoopy. .laying on tope of her V shaped dog house roof.

That's a great story Ramona. I have seen a dog in a tree. We had a Jack Russell terrier that would Jackie Chan his way up a tree and then rest on the limbs. I have also seen a goat in a tree.

Maybe the first time in five months I parked there and the duck flew right into the tree while I was drinking my coffee. I hope the pirate fest goes off well. Dennis, where is the depot in Rockport? Seems like it's SW of the historic district but I sure can't remember. Also, this is probably a dumb question after spending so many winters in Rockport, but how did the oyster shells accumulate? Thanks for the ride today!

The depot is at North Street and Magnolia. You can see it on Google maps. The shells could be from dredging or the excess from several of the fisheries in Fulton. I'm not sure where that pile came from exactly. You could call the navigation district and maybe someone there could tell you. I hope you're having a good night

Duck may be getting ready to nest.Usually nests in tree hollows where a limb has broken or the trunk has rotted away. They also use nest boxes and sometimes nest on the ground. Both sexes help select the nest site.
