This is the best video I have watched on the GShock, very informative. You certainly know your stuff :) I have had my GShock G511D for 16 Years, stopped wearing it several years ago, but just replaced battery, so hopefully all is good again.

was that a short circuit or overheat of the chip onto the mobo that burnt that portion...pretty strange and sad as well

I have G shock G-700 and replaced baterai but display not on at all, I think maybe the problem same with u, maybe tomorrow I will try to fix it like that, remove residu with thinner right?
