Which one did you get?

Just put ground coffee into a reusable mesh pod. No trash except compostable grounds, no plastic to dispose of.

Yeah I use one of those

I ain't got time for that! Kcups are easy
@Odinarcade0010 күн бұрын
@@bvilleDyeah but cutting the plastic off takes longer than refilling a reusable k cup

The plastic is known engineered food grade plastic. There are no chemicals or taste going into the coffee. And if you think that filter is chemical free, think again. It's not. Besides, without the little exit hole in the bottom, the coffee sprinkles all over the place creating a splashy mess.

Hey thanks for commenting I'm sure your point is valid. Could just be me being hyper focused lol

Happy you hacked the k cup as we previously discussed! I'm gonna give it a go. Have you tried SF Bay k cups? Apparently they've been making their k cups this way for some time and are pretty good, according to reviews I've seen.

I like this but it shows you how scary and flimsy the cup plastic is. I tried it right now and it’s good that it removes the plastic but I’m seeing little bits of the plastic just go everywhere 😵💫 I did it inside a bowl but I worry that there are micro pieces left on the filter

Hello Lucas, there's a product called recycle a cup that does all that for you. Check it out and maybe do a video on it

Thank you for the info 💯😁 will definitely look into it

You could do one better and just buy the cups that are already compostable (without classic plastics) in the first place. That way you’re supporting the companies already going in the right direction.
@AtHomewithLucas3 жыл бұрын
The problem is they don't stay fresh for long and they are not really taking off so not a lot of selection. Also some people already have hundreds of plastic kcup in there homes lol But I totally agree with you. I think a compromise or middle ground would be to make a kcup out of compostable material like some chip bags. That way they will stay fresh and keep the plant green 🌎♻️
@JohnnyTaxonomy3 жыл бұрын
That’s simple- put them in a large coffee bean container; sealed jar; zip lock; etc... Also, Check out San Francisco Coffee Co.

But you still have the plastic you cut off. If you say, I am recycling it, think again. Research where we send our plastic. Watch the documentary called Plastic China.

Recycling was half the thinking my main point was your coffee isn't being run through plastic. I think the kcups without the plastic are the way to go, or they need to make them out of aluminum.

3:36 they’re gonna shit 🤣 all jokes aside great video. being able to recycle this extra plastic is def gonna make a difference in landfills 🤝
@AtHomewithLucas2 жыл бұрын
Lol yeah 🤣 I definitely could do more to help the landfill but this is a step closer 🤷♂️😁

Every month I feel more cheated by kcups they find a way to justify making the filters smaller because now their machines make the coffee stronger.
@AtHomewithLucas2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know what you are saying. Buy a reusable kcup and load it with pre-ground coffee ☕️ 😋

but you're still increasing plastic use even if you cut the plastic off. I'm just gonna throw the whole keruig away period. Such a scam machine.

Yeah that's why I like the kpods with almost no plastic...this video was more for not brewing coffee in plastic.
@matthewdavis9437Ай бұрын
Ah yes, worried about waste but wanting to throw away the entire coffee maker. Just buy reusable k cups made from stainless steel.
