Amp is not any magic anymore at today integrated circuit tech, majority, the magic is happened on good driver and good salon design. You're not supposed to fiddle with the polyfill at the back of the driver. It's supposed to dampen the resonances in the vent hole behind the dust cap. You need to stick it back using some rubberised adhesive, letting just enough gap for air to flow in freely for thermals but still damping the resonances.

I have recently purchased this model. You can safely go with this model from edifier if you prefer mid and highs accuracy with punchy bass. Sound is really great. Only thing that's missing is the thumping bass kick. You can definitely add a sub through it's 3.5 mm subout for that which I'll do in future.

@quantumchang4410
@quantumchang4410 Жыл бұрын
If you have the time to experiment with it, why not? A bigger box will definitely give more bass but to have really good punchy bass, you need to get the shape of the box right. It's all trials and errors.

That's a too big magnet for that small amplifier,might be not efficient enough,looks like the power supply board is not design together with the amplifier board.so maybe there is few option to upgrade the speaker, first would be woofer driver,cable,and electronics parts, it's good they use Bi-amp design

Once disassembled, can you safely de-install a tweeter or woofer and replace with another that fits -- or does the circuitry possible prevent this?
@bojned

There is no reason not to be able to do this as long as you match speakers size and impedance wise... I'd stick with similar power levels though, to avoid amp clipping.

My power transformer is also blown. Didnt even have the chance to turn it loud & the next thing was the speaker suddenly went quiet. Took it apart & the transformer coil output was zero volts. There is no fuse on the power board, so a Voltage spike can kill the transformer easily..

@toddsimone7182
@toddsimone7182 5 жыл бұрын
Never thought about that as in issue and I just ordered the 1850DB's. They must have pretty good range if your neighbor can connect to them. I'm sure there's an antenna in there and removing that would probably do the trick. At 1:00 that little "cap" he points to is the bluetooth module I'm pretty sure and at 4:10 you can see a cable going to it so maybe you can just disconnect it there by removing the woofer.

You could use a multi tester to figure out how many Watts and Ohms the driver needs. Although I recommend to replace both “mid woofers” since aftermarket parts could sound different from the original. I suggest you contact edifier for this issue and request for a driver replacement. Only tools you need is a simple soldering kit and a screwdriver.
