As a couple of others have said, today February 5, 2020 that came to an end and he passed away at age 103. What a wonderful long age And a great legacy he left us in his movie work. It’s wonderful to see a clip like that of him when he was in his late 30s. May he rest in peace and my condolences to his family, friends, and fans at this difficult time.

Funny life moment: I knew his son Eric, we became friends in school. One day I was following Eric in Kirk's BMW taking the car to the shop. I was alone in the car, driving down the Sunset Strip, and decided to do my best Kirk Douglas imitation, which of course is horrible at best. Stayed in Kirk mode for the next twenty miles. Just me and Kirk's 5-series, kickin back, being Kirk.

I agree with pildskadden. You could never get a panel with this sophistication again, ever. The founder & head of Random House Bennet Cerf. Longtime columnist & daughter of another old Hearst writer, Dorothy Kilgallen. A great wit Arlene Francis. Fred Allen 20 yrs of radio comedy.Writer & VP of ABC John Daly. & more. Who is today's great panel?---American Idol? Ryan Seacrest, Paula Abdul etc. Blech! TV has become cheap.

@writerspen010 That's one of the great things about these shows... they make you want to revisit the movies of your favourite stars and discover those from those you knew less about. I fell in love with Ava Garner and Hedy Lamaar all over again because of these wonderfully witty, smart, erudite and charming Sunday night shows. They may be fooling us of course, but I honestly believe the panellists are having as much fun as we are. Thanks so much for the upload.

I highly recommend to any fan or would be fan of the great Kirk Douglas, that if you have not already done so, you hasten to see John Frankenheimer's classic cold-war thriller, "Seven Days in May," (The unusually intelligent screenplay is by Rod Serling.) The two famously friendly rivals, Bert Lancaster and Kirk Douglas each take on complex and challenging roles and both fulfill the demands of their characters superbly. Great stuff I assure you, and highly entertaining!

Oscar is not a very good parameter to measure an actor's greatness. Richard Burton, Albert Finney, Peter O'Toole, James Cagney, Deborah Kerr, Glenn Close, James Woods, just to name a few of the greatest, never won an Oscar. All of them, without a doubt, a lot more talented and versatile actors than Michael Douglas.

My understanding is that Michael Douglas has very recently begun shooting a bio-pic of Liberace produced by Jerry Weintraub. Michael plays the title role. Several of the Douglas family have homes out here in Palm Springs. A truly remarkable family, we wish them all the best.

William Petersen, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, and Maggie Smith would be only a few on the short list of prospective panelists for a new version of this show. There are actually many more, if one takes a little time to think about it. Some of them are of the same brilliance, grace and manners as these panelists here. The same can be said of many possible guests. The world is changing; but it hasn't gone to hell in a bucket yet.

y'know though, one the aspects that made this show such as "hit" was how polite and respectful all the participants were: All of them. That kind of social behavior doesn't exist anymore - instead we get rude, obnoxious and, frankly, boringly cynical wannabe overnight "stars". They're just not nearly as normal/down-to-earth, yet glamerous entertainers as they were in those years. We just don't have the calibre talent nor character nowadays to make it an interesting 'hit' show.

During those days, publicists had to cover the stars from controversy and alot of the male stars in particular rarely avoided wanton behavior. Hell, eve Marlon Brando was accused of sexually abusing his own daughter! Kirk, despite his flaws was a great actor and a generous individual, evident from his numerous charities. If he did do it, then I'm sure he's had years to repent. The only reason why he is getting alot of heat is because natalie wood (AKA America's sweetheart) is involved.
