1- I do agree with the PVE being way too hard, even that goblin leader takes SO long to kill, and ofc it doesn't make sense for chars that rely on some kind of resource to farm em. 2- The insurance, idk how it is for higher items, but if it's as shown in this vid, it makes sense, for green/blue, I don't think dice/insurance were ever meant for these items anyways, but the rerolling can cost a lot sometimes, that could be one reason that justifies it. 3- I think they need to use the tiers they have already implemented into the matchmaking system they overhauled, however, due to the low number of active players, lobbies could take longer to get into, BUT it's still better than having a traveler or w/e against a valiant player.... it just doesn't make sense, and ofc they will end up quitting with good reason, they don't stand a chance against people who spent over 100 hours playing the game and they are just getting started.

I agree with gatekeeping, no matchmaking in (Grey, Whites and Greens Lobbies both Castle and Sinners) means experienced players who liked to play with those gear scores will most likely overwhelms newbs. With the "adhering with classes" the way they designed it forces players to be versatile on their weapon choices, staves for example. If I will focus on PVP then I have to use the Lightning but if its for MOBS then Fire, same with Rogues and Fighters whether using Crossbow or not. Weapon and Skill use conforms players on what they will be focusing on their game. and lastly Insurance, Its only efficient to use for Exceptional or Legendary Items, so its not designed for new players or low tier gear. I'm optimistic on DEVS trying to build a game that will last for several years, as they had mentioned on their patch notes taking inspiration from other games (POE, Hunt:Showdown, Diablo... etc). I really do hope that they would continuously work and focus on getting new players (or winning back old ones) with their succeeding patches.

I think the main issue with these games is never balance. Not once have I ever seen a pvp game (or heck any videogame) where the community believed it to be balanced. This is due to a lot of reasons but regardless you CANNOT reasonably balance an ability that lets you go invisible and a fireball. Theres just too many variables. Balance should be the last concern, player fun and frustration should be on the forefront. Cryo was unbalanced but so is every character in some way, it was mostly how frustrating it was to play against. Mobs might have lots of health and low drops but in duos or trios you can move through mobs and maps faster so it doesn’t feel so bad. Getting rushed in casual, getting countered by a class that shuts yours down, losing everything when you die, an ability that cant be countered and you just hope it misses (DK grab), are all extremely frustrating- especially to new players. The devs need to focus on the parts players enjoy and enhance that. Listening to streamers who have no job and grind stuff like Dark and Darker for 18 hours a day will always have optimized everything and find the pve too easy, theyre experience shouldnt be the intended one and yet hundreds of people online argue back and forth about balance and miss the point. Theres thousands of ways DB could be balanced, its the ways that make the game feel good and rewarding for noobs, solos, pve, pvp, and economy that matter. Team fights are always a mess in any game and if the game is inheritantly built with RNG (item rolls, drops, critical hits, player spawns, etc.) It can never and will never be balanced.

As a newbie still noob player, the overall experiencie is not good. Before patch, most lower mm lobbys were 5, 6 bots dying in the first minutes. Lots of games without seeing a player alive, or maybe one fight, and the rest of the time was mob and chest farming. Learning some pvp, some wins some looses but thats k, at least getting out with blues or some purples feels rewarding as a new player. New patch and thats out of the window. Mobs are too hard, almost nothing from normal chests in grey lobbies. Feels like if i dont play fighter or dk i cant even move around the map. I dont like sinners end, so the little gold i can save goes to gear for castle green/blue, and after a 2, 3 loosing streak games its back to trash recollection in gray/white. The chest areas are kinda cool idea, but again, mobs are too tanky and if its a heavy pvp lobby you are almost certainly getting ganked so i usually just wait around for the counter gank. I like the game, i like the castle map, i like some clssses, like rogue, dk, but rn its just not so appealing to play.

I dunno, I usually have no issues with potion crafting materials, crafting materials are everywhere and so are potions, even more now, so potions are not running out for me.

My core complaint with the game is loosing everything when you die. Even if the cost isn't a problem, it's the time spent re-gearing after getting ganked in the first 5 min. Even if I kill 3 people, I can only keep the gear from 1, which means the average player sees a net loss over time with a 50/50 win rate in pvp. Devs' obsession with high-risk ruins it for the average person. Why not limit the gear lost on death? Let the victor take a piece or two, that way there's reward for winning multiple fights and the loser can quickly get back to playing instead of stewing over how they got spawn-camped or out-geared or third-partied. There can't be such a severe punishment for situations that were realistically out of the player's control. This game has good bones, but the things killing it are things the devs will never change.

I like this concept but I think only lower tier players should have gear protected. Valiant and up should have less protection and max tier (Chosen or whatever) should have no protection.

Yeah, the time spent in Menüs regearing is my biggest issue too. Lossing sucks, but the gearloss isn't the Main issue. It's the time spent Not playing that sucks😊

Gearing up takes way too long. Why as a fighter am I buying 10 chest pieces and 7/10 of them are will, int, or faith.. makes no sense. Insurance is a good start, but it needs to be cheaper & be able to insure more then one piece.

This new patch was positive in a lot of ways but I feel like with regards to gear based match making and mob scaling - they made a mistake. If you think about a game like Tarkov, there is no GBMM, and the PVE is no harder or easier because of what you're wearing. That feeling of consistency is important to the overall feel of the game, we need some things to just be static. Furthermore, the notion that more risk = must more reward is a false premise. More geared players have gear value that is higher, but less risk of dying because they are more geared... With that in mind, the survival aspect ALREADY will compensate for the average gold value brought out of game. If you bring less gear, you'll die more often and make less gold as a result. There is simply no need to make mobs hit harder, move faster, or drop more loot. Furthermore, the game has begun separating into 3 different games between casual, classic, and hardcore. You can't even engage in the same activities between the 3 and mobs are scaled so vastly that you're playing a different game altogether. It's not great. Instead of 3 game modes with 2 maps and 3 gear brackets, we need ONE game, 2 maps, a few gear brackets, and SKILL based matchmaking or ranked mode for quality matchups. Part of the beauty to Tarkov is that it's equally possible for you to join as a scav and come out with a million rubles as it is when you join as a kitted PMC. If only these design ideas had been solved by some other nebulous long-lasting extraction game out there......

I did the preseason quests solo bc nobody who has money wants to roll with a newbie. The hardmode regular mobs are so much faster with some insta-attack animations and still chunk you in purps. You need a priest to make it less painful. When I did attempt grouping with randoms on discord we rolled in grays in casual. The same teams in greens were wiping lobbies. Even avoiding players and trying to farm led to terrible loot and potion materials are way rarer now. My queue times as solo going into hard were 30-45 minutes. I was only able to do it bc I had funds from doing dailies when the loot wasn't terrible. I complained on the discord about the queue times and was insulted for losing to greens in grays. "Don't like the hard queue? goto casual/classic idiot" I got my preseason cloak regardless. Cosmetics are all that carry over into season 1. I like how this game plays. Gimme a first person dark fantasy with diablo style loot. The PvP focus at the expense of PvE is killing this game. If new players go bankrupt this is a point where most will just quit. If players can consistently get loot and build funds to their account, they will keep playing. More new players will stick around to fight against one another, learn and get better. It's like the devs see the extraction rate stats and think "how dare you have fun and leave with loot! We're gonna put y'all in battle royale and you need to wipe a lobby to extract" I might come back to see if I can get the season 1 cosmetic quest done. If it's in hard mode only, I'll weigh whether it's worth my time. Currently, the answer is no. We need to see the devs play this game themselves. See if they have fun getting curb stomped and going bankrupt. It feels like a weird ego thing making the game so excessively punishing.

@@subermario you put it so simple haha an your exactley right the new player would tolerate learning the game if they felt like they could get a foothold somewhere but yea i think theres probly like 500 players total that have at least 1 mil gold and your not getting money in casual unless your turbo grinding....and man its so annoying hearing that from discord you should replied "no thanks ill just quit too have fun playing by yourself " Lol que times really are long and YEA I WANT to see the devs reaction to playing the game i really dont feel like they are playing it

Greens are still way too expensive for new players who are going to die nearly every match. It's too expensive even just bringing in pots and bandges as you try to learn the game. Then there are people intentionally playing in lower lobbies like you mentioned, just to farm the new players (Firebox has a video recommending this strategy). What they did with this patch is made it even harder for new players to get into the game, since their main way to get loot is PvE and extracting while avoiding PvP. I don't know how they're going to fix it. Mithril sounds like a good idea, but the characters are a shell of the regular characters so they don't even teach you very well. The loot system makes it worse where every skill level of player above you, also has better gear than you. Combine that with the fact that new players are never going to get the jump on anyone, they will never win a fight and never have a chance to learn the game. I think most of the players here came from dark and darker and already knew how to play.

Its true that Mithril Order is not utilized enough, introducing them to new players might be a great help for newbs getting used to the game without thinking much on their equipment.

You definitely seem like the most sensible person I've seen playing this game on youtube. I agree with everything you are saying. The insurance is a scam and seems ment to keep the rich richer and to stop people without 6 million dollars from using a legendary. I have 3 legendaries 1 from trials.And now I can't ever use them because they cost like three hundred thousand dollars to insure. Thats like half my money!

Whats even more annoying than all this is the dbags that blindly keep going "shhhhhhhh let them cook bro" like na you paid ahh promoter, theyve been cookin till its burnt. We need some rage from the fans to get them to understand their games dead if they dont stop goin in the wrong direction. Sadly its definitely already far too late. That counted as their first chance and if they have enough money to advertise ON TOP of first fixing the game, then maybe theyll have a second chance but itll take lots of advertisements to recover

I quit with the new update. Reason 1: No downward compatability. I can´t use common (white) rings with green or blue gear. Ability to craft lower rarity Heirlooms not granted. Now I need to buy rings every time I die. Reason 2: With the color based system now it´s always best to wear the highest rarity allowed. Gearscore was more consistent it just needed adjustment with uniques and legendaries being worth more points. They needed to combine gearscore and raritycolor system not abandon gearscore. Reason 3: They decided to allow legendaries, exceptional and epic gear in sinners end classic. Reason 4: Teamers and Wallhackers - people B-Line for me and other players making no noise at the edge of the map, teaming is extremely rampant...I don´t get it. They´re destroying the whole matchmaking system and fun for others. They clearly don´t care about the health of the game. I fundamentaly think dungeonborne has extreme potential to be a very good game. They need to take the problems newer players have much more seriously. The Update "Before the Storm" caters too much to existing streamers and good players with high gear lobbies epic gear and above. Overall I think PvE should be as easy as it was before the update. The challenge is and has always been other players. Their "save low risk route" approach they tried to sell in the explinations doesn´t work with hyperaggressive lobbies at all. I´ve decided that the game in it´s current state is not for me. There is not enough skil expression midfight for me in the game, i´d want sidestepping, dodge jump, different swings: vertical, horizontal, jump attacks and mixed combos, weapon clashing like in some fighting games. As of now it´s all about reaction time, landing the first hit/getting the jump on other players and being sneaky or getting into the better position with hopefully better gear and set bonuses. It should be more about skill and using counterplay which doesn´t exist really. Mana based classes need mana regeneration. I also think that the game needs smaller lobbies in general. 10 players max for solo with the current map sizes, only duo´s and trios should have more players with maybe up to 21 or 24 (7-8 trios). btw stonewall flasks wall needs scaling or more hp in classic/hard mode, all it takes is one charge attack. I can see dungeonborne returning oneday if it fails now. It needs a LOT of work to appeal to a wider audience. It´s too punishing without counterplay options at the moment. I really think that the devs listen too much to the playerbase actually. "Before the Storm" came to early. They needed to ship lower rarity heirlooms and a wipe with it and should have focused more and adding new stuff like classes, weapons, abilities and balance changes or counterplay options. Dwarfs or Orcs with Axes, Runemagic or a Shaman would definitly brought in or back more players without alienating through completely changed circumstances. To me movement feels to static and limited in dungeonborne. I think ranged classes like pyro and crossbow should hit less hard with higher cadence meaning lower channel/reload times. The game feels like late Alpha-phase. I wish the dev´s would have stuck with their own plan, but I get that they had to react due to streamer sentiment dropping massively before the update, announcing departure to other games. I think we have to give the devs a whole year.

@@RiceaxeGaming yea well said more skill would be very good iv mentiond it before but this game is like playing checkers and we want to be playing chess maybe closer to how mordau or chivalry is maybe not exactley like it but closer in diversity of attacks. They are gonna let player craft or downgrade heirlooms soon but you maybe right about just adding more classrs an stuff first and sticking to their plan

My advice would be play mithril order characters and watch guides on youtube and watch streamers play. Emulate the way they play and practice with mithril order fighter. If you can kill players using mithril order, you can kill players with a real fighter. Also, either through playing or watching.. Learn the map and the tricks to manuever well through certain areas.

I got banned from the discord so I made a new fighter to destroy new players and discourage them from playing this game! 90+ extraction rate and 18 kd I have over 50 kills with only a hand full of matches XD I’ll do this tel the change the game or unban me

I don’t agree with your point about “needing” to use all of your resources to clear mobs. This was my first game in the genre (besides Tarkov, where mechanical ability doesn’t transfer for obvious reasons) and within the first few hours I was in the habit of killing mobs with my melee weapons as pyro and cryo, only occasionally using a charged sword/dagger attack, but always ensuring I was ready for a player with all of my resources, including HP. New players (and all players really) should be very afraid to ever be below full HP and resources, and engaging mobs should always be done with extreme caution, expecting a player to pull up at any moment. I cringe whenever I see players using ANY resources to clear mobs except when they have a good reason to speed up their clear. (No offense to you, I’ve seen you do this-you’re an excellent player in many other aspects though) Slightly unrelated: pyros should just get innate mana on hit. It feels so good to clear with full mana on hit from heirlooms, never dropping below full mana as long as you use unempowered Q and fire staff, which makes for insanely fast and safe clearing. With mob HP being buffed, it makes more sense than ever for Pyros to have more built in mana regen, especially since newer players getting stomped are having harder than ever of a time accumulating potions.

One more thing: the best way I think they should help newer players is by reworking the Mithril system. That will be the saving grace for newer players going “bankrupt” on gear, pots, etc. if implemented well. It currently doesn’t seem rewarding enough for players trying to get off the ground with gear and gold. If it were up to me, I’d just replace it with a game mode where you play a normal class, in a lobby with only other “Mithrils” who are all using customizable basic loadouts. This would basically replace Casual mode, and then they can adjust the non-Mithril (I.e. bring your own gear) game modes / matchmaking system accordingly.

I've tried conserving resources PvE as well, but the increased time to kill isn't worth it. As he says, you're a sitting duck when fighting mobs and the time spent isn't worth the reward.

@@Stalfos85 If you don’t have a way to get mana (shrine, pots, gear affixes) for clearing then you just have to pick your battles, that’s the downside of the class, and I think that’s intended by design. You have exceptional clear if you’re able to supply the mana, otherwise mobs are a significant threat due to the downtime on your resources. Honestly, it isn’t at all hard to clear every non elite mob with a few melee swings and 0 to 2 fire staff charges, which recharge quite fast when holding/tapping R. Pyro at its weakest is still completely viable to clear, it’s just definitely one of the weaker classes in that regard. That comes with the class, so honestly you just have to git gud with that fire staff.

@@AnEnemyAnemone1 i agree yea i consider this alot when deciding to use resourses on mobs its very dependent on what im doing as of right now though habing to drag out mobs from a 5 or 6 mob room im sitting there for so so so long the fire staff is alot better killing one mob at a time with this update though its just way to much it wasnt as much of an issue before the patch. If i fight a mob i want it over as soon as possible its extremley rare i die from a player sneaking up on me. Im usually always ready to fight cause i leave spawn quick and i know where everyone is within a few mins But they changed alot of the attacks from mobs if you. Notice that rat how often its attacking the fight is too long bob an weaving melee's haha BUT! Honestly i would find a way to more efficently kill mobs if it was actually worth it though!

@@Stalfos85 i personally will be leaving spawn quick as i can to count all the spawn points ill have a good idea where most the lobby is really quick in the match i think fighting mobs is no good at least i cant find a valuable reason to gear for somthing that gives no reward and puts me at a disadvantage as in im gankable im not counting spawns or getting info on people rotations sometimes you have no choice you have to kill mobs but ill be killing mobs as little as possible.
