So SA/Australia and some other country's get the same EA888 gen3 with the IHI is20 turbo that the golf 7/7.5gti has, but the 8gti uses the new Dq381 7 speed box compared to DQ250 6 speed on 7/7.5gti. The big improvement on 8gti is the handling side of it where it uses the same suspension from the clubsport model. Then the UK/US spec mk8 gti uses the new EA888 Evo4 which uses a Garret turbo and has better fueling which is way more capable when it comes to modifying compared to our local SA spec model. But overall SA spec mk8 gti is a big improvement overall in my opinion 👍
