For sure the first two gears there was some spin, but after that it was purely banging against the limiter due to not shifting early enough. Both gorgeous cars but I actually prefer the MK8. It’s the best example of the breed and just gets on with business without fuss. Not taking anything away from the VR6 Rallye though. My opinion might be clouded slightly by my incoming large repair bill for one or two of the turbos on my diesel Volvo 😡

Always find these fellas with money to build fast old school cars can drive the wheels off them half the time, growing up in the 90s and early 2000 and being abit of a grafter you had to know how to drive cars hard and be at one with how as car acts even with just how you go into 3rd gear as most folk over compensate letting the selector naturally slip into 3rd gear because when the cars in natural it’s ready to go in the location of 3rd and 4th gear. If any gear change is tricky at speed it’s 5th. Never miss the 3rd gear because it’s game over then

SLIGHTLY byast being an old school man. That was a damnnnnnn cool showdown. Imagine Mike (G60) Tyson Vs Muhammed (MK8R) Ali. One savage brawler - One technical and precise fighter. Give the G60 a DSG box and it would win on pure savagery. Give the MK8 a manual box and it still wouldnt be savage enough to win. Savagery, big testicles and a ,"F**k This" kind of mentality wins races. G60 wins on soundcheck too 🎶 ❤ I think with some voodoo magic on the gearbox/clutch/shifter, some tweaking with suspension/damping and some tuning to the launch. that G60 would smoke the 8R. That said, the MK8R didnt come to play today and thats what matters, its a beautifully made machine. Quality match up Jamie bro. Get these boys bacm down to do it again. Jamie - do you remember Abz' R32 Turbo on LLF's page a couple of uears ago? I think it was 550bhp the first time, then he came back on with 800bhp - any idea where thay car is as i know it was for sale at the beginning of the year on Ebay. Clean builds. Mk2 guy needs so.e more seat time slamming gears , otherwise , rad guys , and im a old-school guy , but I do have to say the mk8 and the auto shifts were smooth , but im still a manual kinda guy 😅.. more fun and more connected imo ... but still, both rides here were mint , I would like to see better out the vr6, tho as I have been thinking of using one for a swap , but idk yet .. it's between vr6 or 5 cyl or inline 6 for a swap (im partial to the inline 6 for natural balance ), but regardless 🤷🏻 and the race was still cool to see
