call me a new convert. i stumbled across a very old poison video. we are the same age you and i , we've both been sitting the kit close to the same amount of time,and this reaches deep into the past before many of your current fans were even born . back when MTV was a " thing" and carolyn was host ( one wonders whatever happened to her and her long brown hair) there came across the you tube screen a poison video. i took the bait and spooled it. happy times. but what i noticed in this ballad. was your use of the traditional grip. now, in that time period the only other cat i remembered using that grip was steve smith with journey. Peart, would switch back n forth and of course Carl Palmer was masterful at developing power with it. if one were not schooled well in the grip, the power needed to play that hard just was not there. it was not " cool" to trad grip the left hand. cats that did play that way, had a reason behind . so i looked into some of your other stuff, solos and so on. i and maybe many others would enjoy hearing about your technique. why you choose to play the style you do and very importantly your stage style. you have a very nice and enjoyable stage presence. how did you develop what works to create style? "believe in", had you moving around the kit and it was very classy stuff. for us drum geeks gear is cool enuf but style and technique how you prevent yourself from damage to hands ears burnout etc is useful, good information. somewhere along the line you had good schooling and i can hear Krupa and Buddy in some of your solo sticking. like carlson late of cheap truck, your playing is often overlooked when buzzing technical skills are in discussion. you should push this professional side. i for one would enjoy the conversation. your channels are a person who is a rock " star" with a pleasant human side. the other comment. " what makes a successful rock band hang together for so many years , same cats same music whats life like married to the band. that is laudible and very special . im done . i dig your work thank you
@scottmattila831810 ай бұрын
I’d like to see how your road crew preps the road cases and band equipment for a tour. Not so much about what you guys play… but more about how they prep the gear, test it, load it up and pack the truck. Maybe looking at your warehouse layout and how that gets organized. I play in many bands at different levels and always wondered how the big boys do it. Love the channels… thanks for the consideration.

I just came across this video. I didn't know, about your channel, but I figured I'd watch it. I may not have watched anymore, but since you mentioned you incorporate your hobbies into them, and you ride and talk about bikes, I'll subscribe and check out more. Do you do any designing? What do you do, with the 3D printer? If you're into any design work, you might consider my idea for you to work on. Make some biker patches. Design a "Ride The Wind" patch that incorporates some of Poison's style (colors, typography, and lyrics through imagery) into it or multiple versions. I've got the song on my two main riding playlists (The Rider's Soundtrack and The Rider's Soundtrack - Stripped & Chopped), which are on KZbin and Spotify.

How about showing us a 3-D printing project from start (idea) to finish? I think many of us get the concept that you design something and then the 3D printer creates it, but anyone who's not into that has no idea how it really works. It wouldn't have to be something as complicated as the drum. Maybe a more simple everyday object that we're all familiar with, like a kitchen spatula or garden tool or something. I think you could explain it clearly in plain English in a way that would interest non-techies!

This is what makes social media a blessing.🙏Take care.
