I'm trying to restore my WhatsApp back up from my old android phone to my newer android phone... I've uninstalled Whatsapp on the new phone and re-installed it again. When I open it now I get the Profile info page. I'm worried that if I start filling in my details that it might just set up a new account and all my last 15 years of chat history will be gone. I'm feeling quite sick about this situation as there is so much important information contained in those messages. Please please help I'm not the most technical of people but at 68 yrs old I do my best. Thanks in advance. Bob

@@getmoreforyourcar-bobjones i had the same problem and i found the reason,its because i didn't register the account that i had on my old phone (the account that the back up was in) in my new phone,thats why they didn't show the"back up found" message,so what you need to do is backup in your old phone and register the same account on your new phone,if you find the back up in your new phone's drive,then proceed to download whatsapp on your new phone and this time you will see the back up message before the profile info page,hope this help!

The worst happend..Please help. Hi I was trying to do chat transfer but the chat transfer never happened and it got interrupted somehow. After that as my new number was already verified on new phone and I was logged out from old phone. I re verified it on my old phone to continue it. It got verified and the messages got restored but the whatsapp images number kept om decreasing somehow. And now all whatsapp images are not there. My google drive is showing still the backup I did yesterday of 6 gb. What should I do to get everything back. Now it is merely showing data of 3 .gb. Did my data got restored from local database?. I can see that the backup I did yesterday was is still being shown as 6 gb and backup only happens when I click on it. So do I still have my 6gb data..please help I am feeling really anxious. I can see the data was only resotred till may 2023 that is why it is showing only few pics. Rest everything is up to date. Also I re verified it on my old phone. So it may be possible it made a backup from local data base. Please help

Check Backup: Go to WhatsApp > Settings > Chats > Chat Backup to verify the 6GB Google Drive backup details. Reinstall WhatsApp: Uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp. Restore Backup: Open WhatsApp, verify your phone number, and select the 6GB Google Drive backup to restore. Check Local Backup: If needed, rename the latest local backup in WhatsApp/Databases and reinstall WhatsApp to restore from it
