A typical pump will last about 10k hours. Will the motor outlast that life expectancy, given its economically priced value?

No. It won't. Mine caught fire briefly running a air compressor. 5months use. 80gallon tank. Only me in shop don't run a whole lot of air. I painted my car, used more air than normal and up in smoke it went. 😅

Can you help me wire our motor?

How much does that motor weigh?

Great video. Can you run that motor with a plug like that permanently? Like if you wanted to use a plug instead of wiring it to the buildings power?

The motor in this video is actually a 250v (max) motor. It should NOT be operated on a 110/120v plug, if you intend it to function at its rated output of 5hp. It requires a 240v service connection rated at LEAST 30 amp draw (50 amp recommended). Acceptable receptacles are: 6-30R L6-30R 14-30R L6-30R 6-50R 14-50R

How do you reverse the spin on this motor

I tried that exact motor and it wouldn’t turn my compressor even though it’s same 2hp rated.

The motor in this video is a 5hp model. Looks similar, but way more power.
