What would you do when you think no one is watching? What Would You Do? (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go ary. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business. WWYD? airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. What will you do? Would you choose to intervene in these situations? Watch and join the discussion.

I was a guitar teacher & gave all my pupils so much encouragement. Imagine my horror when a lovely little girl told me she wasn't allowed to learn anymore as her father refused to let her practise. He'd told her it was a dreadful noise. It was a small nylon string classical guitar & she had a lovely voice. I taught in a group of three & they were all friends. She was crying. I spoke to the mother who loved it but sadly the father put his foot down. They had a big house & she could have practised when he was out. How cruel to take away her confidence like that. She learnt in a group so the lessons were much cheaper. We all felt so sorry for her. This was many years ago. I do hope she got her confidence back when she moved away from her controlling father.

There needs to be more teachers like you who support the kids instead of bringing them down. My daughter is deaf and plays piano I was told by several teachers she had no place and no right to play piano because she's deaf, she loves piano and we did finally find a amazing teacher who she loves so much so he gets a signed first edition book every year for xmas !! I'll never forget the day when she first got her hearing aids and she said oh you fixed it while tapping the high notes we had no idea she couldn't hear half the piano she has high tone deafness, she was playing the notes but couldn't hear the high notes at all 🤣 it was so funny. She's doing well still playing we don't care if she never plays like she's supposed to as long as she enjoys it I'll keep paying for her to go 😃

Breaks my heart to see a young aspiring talent get pushed on hard to be "perfect". In reality, no one is perfect. I'm a singer & actor myself wanting to be on Broadway. It does take a lot of practice and determination but what makes people standout is showing off their authenticity in their craft. That kid is unbelievable. Putting his heart out there. The mom with the daughter on Broadway.... Omg. I remember her.... she was "Molly" in the 2012 revival of Annie.

Glad I wasn't the only one who felt this way. I know this isn't real but it made me so angry, I thought he was actually good especially for his age. My daughter is deaf and she plays piano and is in college doing drama, I was once told she had no right to play piano because she's deaf and I've also been told she shouldn't do drama either, me well I don't care what she does along as she has fun and enjoys it that's the most important thing and she loves doing both so we support her 😃

So the reason some parents abuse their children is because these parents have been abused by their parents somewhat like some neverending cycle of abuse or pattern past down from so many generations even though not all parents are like that, even though the bible says for children to honor their parents, the bible also says for parents not to irritate their children, so that means it is not one sided.

When that man said you're gonna make him hate music, I felt it. I myself am learning music, hindustani classical to be precise and my parents actually like it as a hobby, but they don't think someone could make a living out of music. They appreciate my singing but they want me to do something that's more "reliable".
@theeleventh805gamer7

That hits home too. My mom forced me (around age 9) to pick up an instrument. I chose the guitar (acoustic) and as a literal beginner, she was already yelling at me how I can’t finger style or know what chord goes where. It made me dread my guitar lessons and I voluntarily opted out of the lessons. I didn’t like guitar at all. It was only recently I took guitar seriously. I got an electric guitar (Fender Squier) and after learning from another guitarist (god bless him, he’s bloody amazing-I dunno where he is now), who didn’t wanna give up on me even when I was getting lost, I returned to guitar and is one of the hobbies I pursue the most. My mom is still critical and while some of the criticism is valid some are still redundant (ur guitar is “out of tune” but when you put it against a tuner it’s perfectly fine). And I’d say I passed her level of guitar now and I can play power/barre chords. Bottom line is: don’t force it on someone, let them learn to appreciate it. If you force it, they’ll FOR SURE hate it

@@theeleventh805gamer7 My father is a musician. Playing guitar is all he knows. He tried to get me and my sister into music. I chose trumpet, but I only really liked it for the first year playing it. After that, I fell out of love with it. I told him I wanted to quit, but he begged me to carry on with it until the end of middle school. I did so, but I was miserable. I tried it again with an instrument I thought I'd like better (piano), but I didn't like that, either, and at that point I was just doing it to please him. I finally put both instruments down and turned to writing, which I am much more passionate about and genuinely enjoy. I have a blog today. Honestly, this is an environment I like much more. I love listening to music, and it can and has touched me, but I can't be on the other end playing it. For some reason, I can't find enjoyment in playing it, perhaps because I was originally forced into it. It just isn't for me.

when I was in 4th or 5th grade I wanted to join chorus and my music teacher was like "you have good pitch, you should do it!" and my mom was like "you cant sing well enough for that :/" or smth. I'm a sophomore now and I'm thinking of working my way to broadway out of spite.

PowahSlap Entertainmint Practice makes PERMANENT. If you practice something one way over and over again, that is the way you program it into your brain. So, even if it's wrong, you will do it that way every single time. Yesterday, I was working on a Berwald symphony with my cello teacher. I was having trouble with a fast passage, and my teacher thought that my fingering was slowing me down. So, she gave me one with fewer big shifts. Although the new fingering was easier than the old one, it took me about 20 repetitions to learn the new fingering because I had to unlearn the old one that I had been practicing for a month.

The kid actually sounds really good. His voice is still developing as most kids around his age are. He's not putting to much pressure on his voice and he knows his vocal range, which is what you want when you're singing a song like that. Really anyone can be good at music if they understand it or try to understand it because no one is perfect and that's what I personally love about music.
