if you don't mean modem - then you call your ISP to get internet setup I could be wrong - When my old Linksys died, I called my ISP to move internet back to modem

Currently have my Internet moved to modem - running my own SSID/password so what happens when router connects and recognizes it's own SSID/password? Does my own SSID/password I set up with my ISP break away?
