Wheatstone bridge is a special circuit consisting of 5 resistors. When the resistances in the adjacent arms have the same ratio, no current flows through the middle resistor! This is called a balanced Wheatstone bridge.
It's used in calculating unknown resistances using a meter-bridge set up.

Can we all agree that this is one of the greatest videos on KZbin? Honestly sir, you deserve a lot of respect because you teach with so much passion and love for the subject and it truly shows in the final product. A well explained video on a somewhat complicated topic. Well Done!

@ericksonengineering7011
@ericksonengineering7011 2 жыл бұрын
Great video. But... you don't show how to solve the general case of an un-balanced bridge. That's the fun part, since it's pretty easy. Convert each side of the bridge (top and bottom 2 resistors) into a Thevenin equivalent, then it's just 2 voltage sources and 3 resistors in series. If you don't know how to do a Thevenin equivalent, look it up. It's a simple and very powerful circuit analysis technique that reduces ugly messy circuits into simple ones. Maybe your next video?
