I as a dude used to have the same "oh I care about personality not looks" mentality when I was a teenager. But then I analyzed my own behaviour and realized that I was lying to myself to make myself feel like I was less shallow. What I actually meant when I said "I don't care about looks just personality" was that once a girl makes my minimum looks threshold, I don't care about looks, only personality. But if a girl didn't make my minimum looks threshold, I didn't even see her as an option. She was invisible to me from a relationship standpoint. So to give an example, if my minimum looks threshold is a 6 our of 10, and I have 3 girls, ones a 4, ones a 6 and ones an 8, I'll take whoever has the Better personality out of the 6 or the 8, but the 4 is never an option regardless of how good her personality is, at best, she's a friend. Many women think this exact way but I guess they lack the self awareness to figure it out. Or they know and don't want to expose themselves

Back in the day, my friends and I used hit the bars, clubs, etc. Women would just flock to my 8+ friends. It was effortless for them! I was about a 6.5. (7 if I had been hitting the gym). I used to hit on several women, get rejected often and would feel content to get just one phone number. Often times, that number was fake. I noticed several women that rejected me in their 20's started conversing with me on FB..... but, I'm not attracted to crow's feet and saddle bags.Bottom line: Maturity and success usually levels the playing field for men. On the other side of the spectrum, I have a friend that's a 3. He never had a girlfriend. My mom and sister used to say he was ugly and they were repulsed by him. "Why are you friends with him?", they used to ask me. He got a job as a corrections officer in NYC. By the time he reached his 40's, he had a house, car, money in the bank and no debt (he also isn't married- which is why he has money saved). I started seeing him date women on the regular and he even had a couple of girlfriends (not attractive ones mind you). He dated one or two attractive women, but they used him. I try to warn him not to get married because I fear he will get taken advantage of by some woman that's been around the block and knows how to play an inexperienced guy. This is the female version of rape. But, she won't go to jail. In fact, she will be rewarded.

As someone who has used online dating for a long time, there are distinct differences between men and women. I will give an example: I see a good number of ladies (good status, education, looks etc) still single and frequenting the same website after the passage of years. One of the harshest lessons I've learned is that all the things men and women tell men to do for women, women actually will do for Chads. Note how men are told to provide/moneymaxx. I wonder how much of women's self-report is due to a lack of self-awareness rather than a lie. My experience of women (and I'm a mental health counselor, so I get into a lot of intimate conversations) is that they don't really know what makes their own sexuality work. In addition, there is a study I remember where women had the same genital blood flow as men in response to pornography, but they reported little or no increase in sexual desire in response to viewing porn. This makes me think that it's possible that women are actually wired to NOT know what turns them on. I think that part of how human courtship works is that women present themselves as intermittently interested in men, so that they create a random intermittent reinforcement schedule to incentivize male resource provision. I have no data to support this, but it sure looks this way to me as my experience as an "average guy" is that women are not reliably interested in sex. I think that not being aware when they are turned on is part of female psychology, simply because it incentivizes this random intermittent reinforcement schedule in their relationships with their suitors.

Yeah I have to agree. I've also noticed that there are many "straight" women who will start dating other women for the reason that "men don't treat them right". Seems odd that someone can just change their sexuality on the fly like that. You add in the fact that there is no laws or even cultural social norms to rein in womens behavior. A marriage contract without a prenuptial agreement by default favors a woman. Social media and society have put nitrous oxide for the mating strategies of women. The days of being able to have a good job and lure an attractive women into a committed relationship are over, your looks have to be reasonably close to hers to have any chance. The tip survey was interesting for me. I am 22 now and I had a significant increase in looks when I turned 19 and noticed that women treated me differently. I have always had money since I was young and in high school I paid for dates and got a bmw to try to get girls,it worked sort of but I had to work hard to get girls attention. When I got to college and grew into my looks I went from a 5 to an 8 and girls just started throwing themselves at me paying for dates getting me gifts going on vacation whatever even girls who friendzoned me want to “re evaluate”. It does not strike me as a conincidence that the exponential increase in the number of people identifying as transgender also matches the exponential increase in female hypergamy. The simplistic interpretation would be that men are unable to find girlfriends and instead choose to "become" the girlfriend as a coping mechanism. As for men who are attracted to transgender women, it would be a case of having no options with cisgender women and therefore having their biological instincts "tricked" by a male who superficially appears female. I think women really do think they like personality more, and that's because average or below average guys are basically invisible to them, they don't enter into the equation. Personality only starts being important when you get into a relationship. Before that, physical appearance is the only thing that matters. Also, in cases of extremely good looks personality does not matter even after establishing a relationship. Case in point: women staying with abusive partners and defending them.

Ugly men are kinda blessed, peaceful life is a good life. I’m in the bottom percentile of men. I’m about 2 out of 10 on a good day. Never dated and I know exactly why, was depressed for a long time. Now I realize I’m very lucky. People don’t use ne and my life is simple and peaceful. Playing games, working just doing things I enjoy 😊

As a non-BPer I quite like this channel. 🙂 I think that usually guys _think_ more about looks than girls, or at least they _verbalize_ it more often. That's probably why we tend to believe that guys care more about looks (which in some sense is true). But I also realized that when a guy says "she's hot" it usually means quite little, since the "hotness threshold" is often quite low... so I understand it as "she's at least average". Btw, the ratio of comments/subscribers of this channel is very high. You have a quite active community! :)

This conclusion at the end actually gave me some insight to my very own dating problems. I met a girl back in Year 4 in Primary School, and looks-wise I'd say we were fairly similar. Fairly similar not just in the context of scale but our phenotypes are very similar to the point I nearly freaked out that we could be separated siblings. My dad got around so much that it wouldn't even surprise me anymore. This person I still consider the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life even though most of the other men I mention her to say stuff like "your opinion" (as in she's just "mid"), I don't give a sh*t that she's "mid". in fact I find it reassuring that I'm not chasing someone outside of my league in that context. I guess that statement proves your point aye? I've also tried being a "pleaser" or "nice guy" to get her affection but sadly that doesn't win her. If I had to rate myself on that table you showed at 16:53 as if it were a compass I would be in the middle of the four for sure and thus her too, as I have confidence but not enough to commit too much and like I said before people would consider my looks "mid", I want to be better but I don't think that's the case for now. Since the mindset for men and women are so different I now realise that I won't be a pass even though my goal is an equal and not far fetched, I don't pass because my equal has higher standards. Hopefully this comment stays in my head and teaches me to forget about her because the more I continue valuing her the more I disvalue myself and lead down a rabbit hole of misfortune. Goddamn that was a stressful 8 minutes.
