Looks are pretty much everything. I used to be 7/10 before I started balding. Girls would approach me, laugh at my lame jokes, say that I'm cute, funny and that I have a great personality. I have been watching these blackpill/redpill videos nonstop ever since I've come to a western country from a third-world country. And I must say I feel sorry for most men here that the options they have as romantic partners are extremely bad, but I think there is a reason for it. The reason you guys are finding it hard is because women do not need you anymore in any context. For example, where I'm from, a woman cannot survive without a man, especially in rural areas. There is an area that was heavily bombed by the army in their fight against the Taliban and the local people had to move. Once the area was cleared the local people along with the army were rebuilding the city and you could see the anxiety among the local women who were not married by 21. Since it was the men who were rebuilding everything, not being married meant that the woman was unprotected. A western woman is given everything by her government. Ever since she was born, she thinks the roads, buildings, electricity/gas, drainage systems, cars and everything that makes up for a civic society exists by default. She doesn't need a man for anything, she is given benefits by the government and the courts are in her favor. All this leverage exists because men are the highest taxpayers and their pool of money then makes them useless to women i.e. they are funding a system that makes them economically unattractive. The reason why your grandparents had successful marriages was because in those times men were not seen as useless, especially after maybe your grandmothers had seen the destruction caused by the world wars and how men are necessary for building and maintaining a society. If you remove the social benefits from the system, you might see a better outcome for your romantic relationships. This is also why you see constant articles from syria where women are calling the men back who have gone to Europe to rebuild the cities which are destroyed. I know this sounds more like opportunistic love, but it's exactly how women love. If they do not see any benefit from being in a relationship with you, no relationship takes place. Since most western men have now been rendered useless by the western female, the only use of you guys now is to provide sperm of chads. Wealth, protection, stability, parental investment by betas, quotas, abortion rights etc. are now guaranteed through law to the western woman. Congratulations, you guys are now officially a matriarchal society, and no such society has survived in history. There are some societies like this in Africa and they're still living in huts.

I was rated a 4 by ww mostly due to the agepill. Being Asian and 171cm doesn't help. That being said I manage to do ok (2019-2022). Not 8-9-10 supermodels but 5-7 with girls much younger than me. So even if you are a sub 5 like me, with some self improvement you can always get something, just don't expect super models . And yes I lean blackpill ... And love ww videos. It's not all negative and it's backed up with real data ... And learning this help me improve myself even as I age, looks always matter.

That being said, I do turn down girls here and there as I don't find them attractive enough etc. I live in Miami, Florida USA so the bar in looks, money and status is very high. Using tinder as the experiment , I would only get sub 5 (older, over weight etc )women liking me in most areas in the United States. If I change location to south east Asia or south America, I definitely get planty of better matches. I did it when I was over weight and got fit, got dental work done. There is a big difference on likes as well as real life treatment even in the west. I went from zero attention to some attention so it definitely works.

Is "ugly duckling syndrome" still a thing? Where a person spent such a large portion of their life unattractive that it permanently skews their perceptions, even after becoming attractive. (I'd imagine this is more common for men now thanks to social media) This used to be something I'd see years ago and would account for some of the mismatches I'd see, and something I still struggle with after finally losing a substantial amount of weight and getting in shape.

I have/had it but I’d say it’s harder with Tik Tok and tinder. I know how it feels to be ugly as I was awkward growing up and have mild autism as well. Growing up was rough but in my late teens I became very attractive. So it’s all true that you are treated completely different if you’re ugly. It’s suicide inducing if you also have a bad/weird personality like I did. But now I’m “quirky” “ sweet” and “down to earth.” I was only called reta*d growing up and everyone made fun of my lips. Now everyone is getting lip injections and they still don’t look as good as mine. But it’s made me nice and I’ve never friendzoned guys or treated the poorly if I wasn’t attracted to them. I know how it feels. But you never really get over it if you were teased really bad for many years. Teachers hate ugly weird kids too unless you’re their super smart teachers pet. I was miserable mostly.

OF COURSE looks matter. It is possible that looks are the most important factor determining who you date. BUT lots of other things matter significantly. The sum of success, personality, fashion sense, and a variety of other factors, all put together, probably matter more than looks alone.
