Was born in 78 grew up hearing Journey throughout the 90s when I was a teenager-they were viciously mocked but I always thought S. Perry had one of the best voices I’ve ever heard-now I know that’s true-there’s no talent left in music

These clips are sheer bliss; I'm sure there may have been some early adopter home theater set-ups, but for the rest of us, there is NO WAY we have heard these as good as they now sound! Infinity era Journey was an incredible band!!!

Yes!! I always tell young people who are just discovering Journey that you only listen to them live they are even better live to me. I was lucky enough to see them 3 times. They were unbelievable.

Yes, indeed...they had been touring nonstop for like four years before Steve Perry joined. That's how they made their fortune because Herbie ran them into the ground touring because they didn't sell a ton of albums. Too bad they still toured so hard after they made it big, because Steve got burned out, and so did Gregg eventually. Neal, on the other hand is like the Energizer Bunny, that guy never tires out. He's still at it, the only one of those guys left.

Schon is so underrated. He gets shunned on best lists because he played with journey. Put him in a heavy metal band and he'd be listed near the top of all the lists.

The album that had this song, was one of the best albums ever. I bet I played that album over a thousand times. Now I have it on CD and listen to on channels like this one. Steve Perry's voice is so clear and his vocals with Greg are perfect

This band seemed to have more trouble with the shows where they were forced to lip-sync. They were more used to playing live than most of the pop stars.

What an amazing singer Steve Perry was. And great afro by Neal Schon. Glad I caught them together when Journey headlined the Rose Bowl stadium in California July 1982 with Triumph, Blue Oyster Cult and Aldo Nova opening.

Very, very cool that this was recorded live. Incredible. I saw them on this tour, and it was a great show. BTW, Neal plays a great lead here, and yet gets upstaged by "The Voice."

I saw this lineup at Day on the Green in September of 1978, the band's that played that day were in order, Cheap Trick, AC/DC, Journey, Blue Oyster Cult and Ted Nugent.

@Joe-vg8kx the lineup changed when Steve Smith became the drummer right after that Day on the Green September 2, 1978. Ansley was fired because he and Steve Perry did not get along.

SUMMER 1978 FEATURED PERFORMERS AT THE VERY FIRST CHICAGO FESTS AT THE OLD NAVY PIER. THE CROWD WAS SO TIGHT TRYING TO SEE THIS GROUP. THE RESTS OF THE FEST GOERS COULD NOT MOVE THE CONCERT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. IT MADE SUCH A SPLASH THIS GROUP THAT JOURNEY WAS FRONT PAGE THE NEXT MORNING.
