I got this game Christmas morning of 1996. I was soooo disappointed because I really wanted an N64 and Super Mario 64, but instead I got Wheel of Fortune and Monopoly for Genesis. Even at the time I knew my parents were trying. They thought I had enough game consoles and video games, but were still willing to get me at least something. Now I have tons of nostalgic value for this game, so thanks so much for the full playthrough! :)

It's pretty much the same as the SNES game, but the music no longer sounds like a funeral dirge!

Probably because of some "twangy" SNES engine that made some of the instruments sound weird. It's a bit easier to replicate on Mega Drive because of how it seems to be simply composed with several simple sine waves. Honestly, I prefer this Mega Drive music style over the SNES original and GameTek's later MD game show offerings that would use the GEMS driver.

This was the first _Wheel of Fortune_ video game I ever owned back in 1995. I missed out on the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation versions, but I did collect the PlayStation 2, 3 (2012, R.I.P. THQ) and 4 versions. I even owned the Tiger handheld version from 1995 as well. The first version I played was actually the 1991 NES version, but I wasn't very good at it, seeing I was around 6 or 7 at the time. I even rented the Rare versions from the late 80s, too. (Fun fact: The set used in the Genesis and SNES versions is from Season 7 (1989-90) in nighttime syndication when the show moved to Television City from Burbank, while Deluxe Edition and the SEGA-CD versions' contestant area is from Season 10 (1992-93)-Season 14 (1996-97 before the trilon puzzle board went electronic in February 1997) in syndication.))

Wow the thumbnail looks way too realistic for a genesis game👀

Agreed. Pretty good graphics for Genesis.
@PlayerWM863 жыл бұрын
The thumbnail is actually a picture of when _Wheel of Fortune_ was in its NBC days from Season 1 (1983-84)-Season 6 (1988-89) in syndication, even with the old $25,000 sign in 1987. The sign, which turned into a grid of golden lights in 1988, would last until 1996 when the show moved to Sony Pictures Studios from Television City the year before (1995); Season 13 (1995-96) in syndication would be the last time that the $25,000 sign would be used.

This version is much, MUCH better than the Super NES version. Because the wheel actually spins like it does in the show. Unlike whatever the SNES’ wheel animation is.
@jimmyboyzable8 ай бұрын
OMG, that SNES version of "Wheel"; the original (same graphics as the Sega Genesis) is just BAD, especially with that badly-made graphic of the wheel and you noticed too that the contestant avatars only smile when they'd land on $800 or higher whereas here on the Sega Genesis version, they'll smile when they land on $500 and higher
