Addison: Respect. The way you immediately called out Nynaeve’s pain at the end was right on. More than the loss of her life in the Two Rivers, more than the loss of Lan and friends, the carrying the memory of Elnore forever now is devastating. BOOK SPOILERS FROM TGH nah you can use the one power in T'A'R and inside the Arches. But it is extremely dangerous. Aes Sedai of the past had burnt out when they were studying the ter'angreal. The Novices also forget about their ability. Nynaeve is special indeed. She channeled twice during her testing in the books even though she was warned not to do so. She opened the final arch herself to return from her Malkieri 'future' when she remembered everything.

I absolutely loved everyone’s reaction to Uno’s death, particularly Addison’s. If you watch the Bonus Content Rafe Judkins, the Show Runner talks about wanting the audience to have that strong of a reaction, and be “absolutely fucking terrified” of the Seanchan. You guys fulfilled that intention for him. UNO’s a fan favourite character and a lot of people are going to be pissed at his death, but it makes perfect sense I. The context of the TV Series. Great predictions on a bunch of the other stuff. I look forward to seeing more of your reaction videos for the rest of the Season and the Series.

I thought personally Uno was going to be combined with Masema and become the prophet. Now I'm not sure if they're doing that storyline. If not, it's a shame IMO, but I understand things have to be cut with the episode count they've been given. I was surprised by his death and it was a great way to give both new viewers and book fans a taste of the brutality of the Seanchan.

yeah I had to double check after that scene. had him mixed up with another character for a minute. not a huge deal just something small they changed that doesn't have a huge effect on the book story and keeps us guessing. also a pretty made for a pretty big scene for the show. really helping build that hate for the Seanchan, which is a good move IMO. so far most of the surprise changes have been pretty good. as Sanderson said it's like watching a different turning of the wheel. same story different choices.

Remember. In the Tower, women start as Novice, doing menial tasks and learning the basics. After the Arches, they are Accepted. They can now do specific studies and do fewer tasks. Both levels ALWAYS defer to a full Aei Sedai. After years of study, an Accepted and take a test to become a full Aei Sedai. At that time they pick an Ajah color.

You should keep in mind that this story is older and more popular than most fantasy stories you have seen on TV or cinema. So this story having similar elements to other stories is not the author being inspired by them, if anything it would be the other way around. Pretty much anything except LotR comes after this series.

35:15 you gotta remember liandrins been gaslighting matt for months atp about how all of his friends hate him and don't even think about him though, I think he really wanted to go up to her, but he's been led to believe she wouldn't want to see him, and it'd be better if he disappeared. The other actor leaving last season too kinda put them in an awkward spot for how to get his arc started for this season, so I'd give the writers a bit of leeway there too.

I think they've done a good enough job picking up the pieces and getting Mat to his book 3 stage. I'm glad we're not spending more time with dagger-mat. And they aren't going to do everything just like the books anyway, because they literally CAN'T. There are 14 books in the series, but the show will get at most 6 - 8 seasons, and probably no more. So they have to condense & change MUCH of the story in order to adapt it to TV. Sometimes you will see some of the characters do "uncharacteristic" things occasionally, in order to speed up a storyline, or, to get the characters to a place where they will be needed in the future. It can't be helped! The character is still going to end up being the loveable rogue we are used to.

He wouldn't care if moiraine didn't share her plans. He trusted her. Also nyneave training with warders? She abhors violence and is a healer. She would never train with a sword. Again out of character. I never said they wouldn't have to condense. But BLANTANT mistakes from people who claim to love the wheel of time is unacceptable. If they love the wheel of time so much, they would see the women are strong in their own rights, and wouldn't literally give men's scenes to the women. Sheriams hair? Blatant mistake. Lan being anything other than stoic? Blatant mistake. Mat not comforting one of his childhood friends, and leaving her for a stranger? Blatant mistake. If they have to leave so much out, why are they flat out making up storylines? They could easily adapt the source material, and condense. But no, ideologies have to get involved. Rafe even said it himself.

They are building up the baddies well in this episode. The Seachan are formidable and it will get worse. Nynaeve experienced a life of love and sadness. She really didn't return once and somehow activated the portal from inside to escape. She had her cake, but it turned out to be filled with shaving cream.

No lie, I did the audio book route for the last 4, and on all my rereads of the books, Kate Reading and Michael Kramer are wonderful narrators, and Rosamund Pike (Moiraine) has done new versions of audio books for the 1st three books. Carina - read the books trust me. I listened to them in audible after season 1 because I couldn’t wait for season two and it’s been great. I’m on the penultimate book rn and I was able to go at a pace which fit me because I’ve struggled with reading before. But also just try it don’t go in with I have to read 15 books. It’s obvious but just go one at a time and see how you feel at the end of each one. I needed to know what happened next. Also you guys should defo do a book club kind of thing if you do read the books because it’s so cool to see first timers perspectives

Shreds, I hope. I love it. Uno was a great character in the books, and a great character to martyr to the brutality of the Seanchan. That really illustrated the danger of putting a foot wrong around these people and all book readers besides Nae'blis and Omar felt that.

Why did Mat go back for Min? Because Mat ALWAYS goes back. It is a shame season 1 Mat didnt go into the ways because people dont understand that Mat always goes back. No matter how much he doesnt want to, no matter how stupid he thinks it is, no matter how much he complains, Mat always ends up trying to do the right thing.. Poor Lan can't catch a break, even in the arches he is just trolloc fodder. I kinda hate how they portray Lan in the tv show, he is nothing like that in the books. Still, so far this season is much better than season 1.

But he knows that he can help Min, even if its a way riskier choice for him (going back to the prison and maybe getting caught again.) He's the man who runs back into the burning building to rescue the cat even though everyone tells him its not worth his life.

I kNow this is late AF, but I'll explain the arches ceremony, and the basic structure of the white tower. All women/girls who can channel and are found by the Aes Sedai are brought to the Tower. The first rank is novice. Novices are basically in the "try-outs" phase if you think in sports. Those novices who show an affinity to the one-power are put to the trials (the arches) to become "Accepted" Accepted is like being accepted into college. You are an official student, an Aes Sedai in training. The harsh conditions of the novices is 1, to reset their character and make them all equals. "You may be royalty, but we both cleaned shit side-by-side" 2, to remind them of what an Aes Sedai is, "Servant to all"

Based on the trailers, Siuan is probably going to show up in Carhien to talk with Rand next episode. Remember, people don't travel very fast in this world. It actually makes sense that these three Aes Sedai are running the test. Leane is filling in for Siuan representing the tower, Sheriam is mistress of novices, and Liandrin is acting as a sponsor to guide Nynaeve.

In the Uno scene I always ask myself, how it was for the two on set (the actor of Uno is married to the woman that plays Alwhin (the Voice beside Suroth). Mat not going to Egwene irked me the wrong way even if I understand the justifications - he's been conditioned by Liandrin to think his friends hate him and want nothing to do with him. He still went back to get Min, because he has a sense of loyalty to help his friends no matter what. I think we'll see him turning more into book Mat as he gets his signature distrust for the Aes Sedai from everything done to him so far, and grows more into the unlikely hero-lord.

Your reaction to what happens to Uno…. yeah that was brutal. This story is actually pretty horrific really. Especially stuff around Seanchan as well as Rand and what he goes through. And Aes Sedai are pretty cruel, like they do some of the cruelest things really. You all kinda shipping Ny and Lan is funny LMAO. The thing is she needed a reason to stay at the White Tower. Now she has.
