great job!!!... I had Mat going thru the red door frame and ending up in Rhuidean with Rand so he could be a part of the Battle of Cairhien and form "The Band".... But I agree with your predictions.... Excellent

Wow! What a thorough video almaost as good as having the season right in front of me! I like your theories, because they stand out. I must say, I hope Siuan is not written out of the show because she's my favourite secondary book character :(. But if Sophie really is that busy... There's the possibility for a recast with a younger actress akin to what happens after the deposition, but you didn't mention it and I understand why. I've never thought it was a viable option for the show.

Again an incredible prediction. Perhaps Rafe should talk with you for ideas. Hope to see you at WoTCon again. I have argued with others about the motivations for the group to split up. Bery nice you addessed that. Your idea of using Finnland as a portal for Mat to go between Tanchico and Aemon's Field is brilliant.

Amazon's show is an absolute abomination to any legitimate fans of Robert Jordan's work - it's an outright attack on it, to 'fix Jordan's problematic writing' to quote the show-runner. Forget the difficulties involved in producing an adaptation, it was never a good faith effort, it was the literal opposite of that. Less than 10% of what we see on screen ever took place in the books and the blatant social and political agenda behind every decision made on that series makes it as much a farce as the poor writing, terrible pacing, sub-par effects, shallow characterizations, embarrassing dialogue and nonsensical 're-imagined' lore.

WoT fans like the books for different reasons, and consider different parts of them important in adaptations. I don't agree with every decision the show writers have made, but I agree with most of them, respect their overall approach to the project, and enjoy the result. It was clear from the very beginning that a very literal live-action adaptation would not have been possible given the realities of TV shows these days, and the fact that RJ, unlike GRRM, never tried to make WoT TV-adaptable, so the show writers had to take some artistic license. I am fine with that, but not everyone is, and that's okay, but I would ask you to voice your opinions in a way that is respectful to those fans who do enjoy the show, and to the show writers, who absolutely DO love and respect the books. Anyone who has ever talked to them has no doubts about that. You personally might enjoy an animated adaptation more. In that format it is possible to stay much closer to the books, because you don't have to deal with actors, sets etc. Regardless though, keep in mind that ALL WoT fans should root for the success of the show, because the only way we are likely to get any new material in the WoT universe in our lifetimes is if its intellectual property increases in value, and that requires a successful first adaptation. The success of the first two seasons has already led to one additional book by Michael Livingston and to the planned iWoT prequel movies, and we may get more of that if the show continues to be successful.

@@wotshowtheory I understand what you are saying - but that 'very literal live-action adaptation' argument needs to stop. No one on the planet expected that, ever. We're not talking about a literal live-action adaptation, we're talking about an adaptation made in good faith, which this was absolutely not. 'Some artistic license' is one thing, but they've significantly changed every character, every piece of foundational lore, even the basic function of how magic works in this world - you can't get more fundamental than that. And the thing that is most upsetting is that the lion's share of those changes weren't made in service to the story, they weren't made with any consideration of the story at all, they were made for social and political reasons which the producers and Amazon Studios were VERY clear about from the beginning. It was those priorities around which the story had to be fundamentally re-written, re-invented even, and, I'm sorry, that does not suggest love and respect for the books - in fact, Rafe is quoted on more than one occasion as describing many in the writer's room as 'not very familiar with the books at all'... I apologize for some of my vitriol, it is not my intention to be disrespectful to those are fans of the show, no matter how much it mystifies me. Saying that this show should be supported because it's the only way we'll get more WoT doesn't make any sense to me, because more of THIS is NOT more WoT, it's just disrespectful and poorly-written fan-fiction that happens to use some of the same names of characters and names of places as WoT. I wasn't exaggerating when I said less than 10% of what we see in the show we saw in the books. That's being generous. That's why the defense of not having enough episodes rings so hollow as well - if you don't have time to show all of the things from the books that you want to, how is it that you still have time to fill 40 minutes of every hour with things that never happened in the books at all? To my mind, cheering for more of this is simply cheering for more and more misrepresentation and bastardization of Jordan's legacy and - tragically - much like the excellent LotR movie trilogy, for many people who simply aren't book readers, THIS will be the only version of WoT they ever know. ALL fans deserved better than this, the ones whom have made this series beloved for generations and the ones yet to come. FWIW, I respect what you do here and admire the dedication, knowledge and technical skill required to do it... I just disagree with your perspective and those like it on such a fundamental level that it's like speaking a different language. The show actively attacks and tears down the very institutions and concepts upon which the books were written and which Robert himself believed very strongly in (such as the binary and complimentary nature of the masculine and the feminine), which leaves me to wonder why adapt the IP at all if you oppose the very concepts upon which it is based? Again, I apologize if My initial post came across as disrespectful, but the passion is real. I waited my whole life to see these books brought to life and, when they were, not only were the show's production standards of poor quality, but I was essentially lectured by the showrunners in every fabricated scene as to just why I was wrong to have loved the books in the first place.

@@wotshowtheory I also want to take a moment to thank you for taking the time to write out a respectful and reasonable response to someone who clearly - passionately disagrees with you. The willingness to hear another person out and then engage in a dialogue, to present your views rather than simply dismissing them or silencing them is laudable in the modern age. While the nature of your content may not appeal to me, it does lend greater weight to your perspective and makes Me want to be more careful of my assumptions regarding those who have found a way to support what I consider to be a crushing disappointment.
