Wheel of Time Season 3 Leaks! Rands time in Rhuidean!

It makes a lot of sense from 2 directions - hiring a bunch of unknown actors to play his ancestors well would be difficult as Aiel are really important to portray well. Imagine finding all those actors (I forget how many generations, bad koala!) and getting them up to speed on the nuance of each generations importance. So using Josha with his deep knowledge - smart! the second direction is how well they will SHOW non-book readers that this is his past by him playing each generation I love it - and I love that we just don't know how many amazing things they have planned to unfold for us!

I wonder if we got a little taste of it in Nynaeve's first arch - we see Zoe with a more youthful appearance signified by her clothes and hair, but we also see in reflections that it's a younger her portrayed by a younger actor.

I'm listening with headphones and it seems like the audio only on the left side (usually this isn't the case). I don't know if something went wrong in the editing. I just wanted to mention it. I'm looking forward to the Rhuidean episode. Mat cards!!! I need to remember when it comes out and see what the price is.

I already thought that Janduin might appear in the glass columns. After all, your father is your ancestor. This sounds like a great way to show Rand's birth parents' backstory. Having Josha play Rand's ancestors makes sense.

In the books we only see the road to the spear as a POV. Probably doesn't translate too well so having it viewed as a normal 3rd party with "Rand" playing all the characters seems to be a better fit for the small screen. Hope we also get to see a bit of Tigraine / Magdalena Sittova and her journey to the waste.

This is a technicality, but Rand does not see his own past lives through the crystal columns. He sees the lives of his ancestors. These are not the same thing.

I just caught what I believe is a minor error in your description of the crystal columns ter'angreal in Rhuidean. You said "It walks him past through all of his past lives" This gives the impression of viewing otherwise unrelated re-incarnations. IIRC, in the books, inside the crystal columns, with each step Rand took deeper into the ter'angreal, the further back in a single timeline he went, seeing thru the eyes of HIS OWN ANCESTORS, going back from son to father but sometimes seeming to jump from grandson to grandfather until he was seeing visions from the Age of Legends. :) EDIT: Ah I see watching further into the video that you specifically address his ancestors for the Rhuidean scene. Josha in prosthetics portraying each ancestor in every flashback I am looking forward to seeing! Sounds like a fun way to have created a visual family continuity in the flashbacks.

I just hope they make it clear that he's playing his ancestors, NOT his past lives, because I can imagine folks getting confused by that unless it's made very clear. (As evidence of that: Jon, even you misspoke in the video and said past lives when you meant ancestors!) I'm sure there are some ways though. Rhuarc or whoever could explicitly say so before he goes in. But even then I'd be worried that some very casual viewers will conflate past lives and ancestry; I'm not sure most folks realize they're not necessarily linked. So seeing Rand as his own father might help with that too.

What about the opening of the bore? Will we see all the way back through the Breaking, the War of Power, to when Lanfear opens the bore? That sequence - showing all of the technology of the Age of Legends - is what sold me on the story as a post-Armaggedon story, not just a generic fantasy. I'm hoping these leaks just truncated at the scattering, but the sequence doesn't actually stop there.

I hope to God that the reason they might not be going back that far is $*#*$ iWot/Red Eagle. They've laid claim to the AOL and want to use it to keep and secure the rights. great that we get to see Jonai (even though they're not calling him that), but it is SO important to me that we get to see Lanfear as Merien Sedai in her element as a scientist--NOT as a seductress/so cliche.

I'm thrilled that we're getting to see the Jonai/Solinda sequence. Jonai is my favorite out of all the visions--it's intruiging. I hope we get to see some real digitially multiplied doubles from hundreds of real ones (the departure). While it won't play out strictly like the book of course (no Nym) I suspect among the pile of ter-angreal we will see The Redstone door and hmm...a bit of banner and hint of sword (just a hint)...foreshadowig....but it looks like my fears have come true: STUPID $*$*$ iWot RED EAGLE have inded laid claim to the AOL and therefore we will are not gojng to be seeing the part of the visions that seperated WOT from all other fantasy. crave a vision of Charn serving Merein Sedai, in her white (?) lab coat. Lanfear as the scientist, not just the cliched role of seductress. I want see chora trees, and jo-cars and sho-wings flying. I mean, I'm looking forward to the "futuristic wagons" (Which would be really cool as broken-down, rusty shell of jumpers and jo-cars turned into horse-drawn wagons (very Mad Max) but how much better to see the Hall of the Servants and a Paaran Disen street, with S3 better budget. That said, I cannot wait to see Josha shine and being his book knowledge to the screen. I wonder how much of this was his idea, if he got to collaberate with the writers on this too.

ok..had to add: there's only so much they can cram into one episode and I was afraid it would only be 3 visions like Nyneave's test but 4 is so cool. We get to hear more dialogue from each. I'm hoping Solinda will be telling the story of Tzora as the ground shakes and we hear people screaming in the distance as the bedraggeled Aes Sedai of the AOL prepare to make the Eye. Solinda telling this dramatic story to Jonai in between snapping orders to people who rush up to her asking what to do. It could be quite the drama.
