WHEEL. Quadra V-Tech in real life

Hi everyone! In this video I'm going to make a steering wheel or a steering column for Quadra V-Tech using aluminum with plastic inserts. Basically, this will be some kind of challenge for me, since I've never welded such a complex aluminum constructure. As well as I've rarely dealt with aluminum in my life. All the dimensions will be taken from a previously printed 3D model.

Honestly, this is the first time I've seen someone with a 3d printer using the plastic parts so... liberally. The polygons are still visible on the various parts and the whole part with gluing a plastic cube and *then* drilling a hole through it was quite something. I fully respect the hard work you're putting into this project, but man, you are really underutilizing your printer. I would highly recommend getting a CAD software to at least model out some bits and pieces to simplify what you have to do. It might sound like more work, but in the end you're left with backup files and a quick and easy way to replicate parts that don't fit, break, or simply need a re-design. Stuff like those paper cutouts could, for example, be sketched out and then printed in 1:1 proportions without much hassle. Fusion 360 is a popular choice and offers a free license, if you're interested.

Just two comments from me...NOT NEGATIVES But food for thought...matt black may look better for the wheel body...hides fingerprints well and imperfections. For the grip material, a foam backed material may be more comfortable. As I say, just feedback. Excellent work dude.

The only project that actually does what most of us want to do. Build a real car from a game, and not just a look alike from a real car. Just itches me to make the quartz regalia. Bit a of a late comment but it would be worth investing in a quick-rack steering system, it would make actual driving of the car in the future much better as you only have to turn the wheel around 160 degrees for full lock rather then having to let go and regrab such an awkwardly shaped steering wheel

Nice. Only thing I would change is casting some parts with high density foam and threaded rod. Use the parts you made and create silicon cut molds.

Great work but please replace the two ugly screws in the button box with something better, like a pair of hex-head bolts or something. I usually work on bikes and scooters and you'll probably find some kind of fairing screen bolt would do nicely.
