I agree 100% on the dual wheel vs the single wheel bars, I have seen several Stock Eliminator cars with single wheel bars that the wheelie bars will drive the car one way or the other, so much more control with the dual bars....I dont even offer a single wheel bar for the stock or super stock cars I build. I love the videos, very informative! Thank you!

Liking the videos Tim, haven't kept up with drag racing for a few years but these videos are giving me the bug again. Love the welding videos also. Thanks for putting in the time to make them. 🤘😎👍

Are you wrapping the carbon tube with fiberglass where they bond to the aluminum in order to prevent galvanic corrosion?
@RecklessRegal5 жыл бұрын
I've read that a good starting point for wheelie bars is 2/3 of the wheelbase. Is that correct?
@Timmcamis5 жыл бұрын
That could work out, but we traditionally have standard sizes based on power levels and potential use as Tim touched on in the video.

Tim, it is good to know the diameter of the 4130 tubing BUT, what about wall thickness?
@Timmcamis5 жыл бұрын
Standard wall thickness on 4130 sets is 0.058". Sometimes it can vary from 0.049" to 0.065" on custom wheelie bars with different size tubing.

Hi Tim, do you think it's better to have a little flex in the wheelie bar than to make it to stiff (as in to let it bow). If its to stiff, does it not shock the tyres?
@Timmcamis5 жыл бұрын
Ideally you want them stiff for consistency and longevity. If the car is routinely hitting the bars to the point where it is shaking, there should be tuning adjustments made to combat the issue. Ex. wheelie bar height, front end weights, 4-link, etc...

Hi Tim, Do you consider the wheelie bar a tool to be used to enhance wheel slip? Duncan
@Timmcamis5 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can be. Check out this video to see more about using the wheelie bars for tuning and making adjustments - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJO6qZuXqLZ2bqM

Thx Tim i agree dual wheels i also agree with

Standing at the starting line as a spectator, I've seen dual wheelie bar settings so far off, the driver has to make a half turn steering wheel correction to stay straight. What's up with that?

I'm new to your great channel. I raced in Fl back when I was MUCH younger. I am 50 now and am getting the itch again. Do you work or deal with factory stock classes? Or is that slower than what you do?

Why did F/C go from a double to a single?
@rightsidelanechoice77024 жыл бұрын
If they made the carbon bars in an oval 0 shape like the wings mounts on top fuel cars, they would be even more rigid yet.
