Showing you how i get to London in my wheelchair. We decided to visit London’s British history museum. The Museum was very easy to get to, it was just the London traffic that was a little bad, but could have been worse.
Since suffering my spinal cord injury, and becoming paraplegic I tend to prefer to drive to London when possible. I find this is easer for the whole family. as we can escort all our bags and things that we need. My poor husband is the one who has to carry it all. When traveling to London if you are registered disabled you do not have to pay congestion charges. You can’t park on double yellows in London. You have to park in a pay meter, and you have to pay, but you do get an extra hour free!!! whooooo.
The museum is very near to Great Ormond Street Hospital. We found pay parking, around the back of the hospital, and there were about 5 or 6 disabled parking bays. If you were to get there early you may get lucky and be able to park there
The museum was very accessible, with accessible toilets. And if you needed too, you can hire wheelchairs. Also the best part of the day was that entrance to the museum was free, but you are requested to make a small donation. :)
After suffering my spinal cord injury i have really had to adapt in life. So Im sowing you my disability lifestyle to raise disability awareness. as a disabled woman and a woman in a wheelchair who is paralysed, I thought it would be interesting for you to see, and hopefully give you some inspiration and motivation so that you can live more independently. wether you are paraplegic or quadriplegic i hope that i can help you.
i have lots of interesting disability videos, a lot of videos on how to cope with a disability and living life in a wheelchair, wether you are a girl boy woman or man. i have some paraplegic exercise videos, and advice. its important to keep your fitness levels up as much as possible as this can when physically and mentally with depression.
