2-18-24: 20 singles in a game is a new program record that was previously held by the ‘96 Tigers with 19 vs. Mississippi State. That game was the full 9 innings. Today’s game was 7.

LSU is the most complete team I've seen so far this year. If this team continues to gel and stay healthy the sky is the limit. There is zero margin for error when playing them...they *will* make you pay for your mistakes!

@drewhuddleston2670 it's funny that you say that because most of the fans expect this LSU pitching staff to be better than the one that won the national championship last year. They have multiple talented pitchers who could be starters and the bullpen is loaded. It's real early in the year, pitchers are still building into the season and we have no idea how everything will play out with injuries. I'm not worried about pitching currently though. There might be 3 or 4 pitching staffs with more talent than LSU and that's just on paper. (Wake Forest, Florida, Arkansas, Maybe Vanderbilt) and it's tough to say any of those schools pitching staffs are better 3 games into the season.

LSU led the country last year in runs per game with 9. LSU is averaging 13 runs per game this year.

They must not have agreed to it beforehand. In the SEC there is a forced mercy rule at a 10 run lead, but outside of that the two teams have to agree. I guess LSU must not have agreed to it to get work in, or maybe vice versa.

Small sample size to judge a season off of. But LSU doesn’t just have a few good hitters, the whole damn roster has a good bat my lord! If they keep the bats hot like that all year, they can repeat without a doubt. Defense should be tightened up real nice by the time SEC play rolls around.
