It’s pretty obvious he wasn’t doing it on purpose. As a current college baseball player, I will never understand why fans get mad when a player is unintentionally hit, it’s literally a free base.

Honest question: why would (under what circumstances) why would you cut off a pass to home plate?

Catcher will make the call to let the fielders know what to do. If he thinks they got him then they will let the throw go through. If you have other runners on base then the throw is more likely to be cut off bc you don’t want to give the other runners a chance to advance.
