Great win Vols, LSU made it a bit interesting in the end there. Amick not coming up with one and Tears having uncharacteristic trouble out in right field made me quite a bit nervous, lol. LSU is trending in the right direction and should make some noise in the NCAA Tourney.

LSU should be proud of what they accomplished at the tournament. Although it would of been nice to win the conference title, it was a well fought game between both teams. Tennessee was definitely looking for revenge this time around since LSU were the one to beat them twice last in the the MCWS. I wouldn't be surprised to see these two teams in Omaha again. Geaux Tigers and any sec in the NCAA Tourney!!

This Vols team isn't as talented overall as the 2021 squad which should have won it all huy choked against ND that year. This team however is more well rounded and better coached overall. Tony V is really improving as he goes. This 2024 version reminds me of last year 's LSU team.. Just a well rounded really good team overall.

Stephen Milam. As clutch as you may have been the other night, you have got to have more base runner awareness than that. Bases are loaded, where you going. Bottom of the 6th with bases loaded and 2 outs, why on earth is Steve Milam leading so far off on 1st? its not like he can steal 2nd...you shouldn't be leading that far off unless its a full count!!!! The Vols catcher was literally setup to pick him off on the 1st pitch.

As an egregious baserunning blunder Milam made being picked off, he doesn't share the entire blame. One of the jobs of the FIRST BASE coach is to watch for just such a play. After all, it happens all the time. The big boy blew his responsiblity. The first baseman sprinted behind Milam and surprised him. Surprised the rotund coach too whose main job was to watch for plays just like that one. Yadier Molina used to pick runners off first with Albert Pujols like clockwork.

He had a bigger lead than usual and was also kind of sleeping at the same time because Tennessee had an amazing play designed and set up and then executed it perfectly. See how they’re in that kind of “semi” shift; check out where Burke (the 1b) is playing at the time of the pitch, he is set up at 4 pretty much (which is most likely how the play is designed and it’s genius quite honestly)… if you’re Milam, or any baserunner for that matter; and you see the 1b playing/set up at 4 and know there’s no one holding you on, you’re going to get a pretty good secondary and you’re also probably not going to be that worried about getting back picked or picked because you know that you can easily get back to the bag… the fact that the bases were loaded made it even more of a perfect time to call that play because no body expects a catcher to risk a back pick on the trail runner when a bad throw or any little mistake could/would easily score the guy on 3rd… I know some people want to blame Milam or get upset with lazy bad baserunning like that, but some times you just have to tip your cap and respect/appreciate an elite baseball play…
