Iowa State is so pure. That was one of the gutsiest most deserving comeback wins I have ever seen in sports. Iowa State has injuries to 4 linebackers and all Iowa does is run it. Fantastic win for Iowa State. What a ridiculously good game. The ISU defense, WR's, O-Line, and RB are legit. Wow, what an effort. Shut out at half with a defense full of injuries and win on the road in one of the most historically difficult places to win in all of College Football.

I think this is technically an improvement for them though... Like literally this game was 20% more offensive yards than they averaged last year against a typically higher end defense.

@@tobin1677 It is an improvement, but it's still not enough, clearly. It's not impossible to recruit talent to Iowa; there are former Hawkeyes all over the NFL. So, I don't think that talent is the issue. Is it offensive philosophy? Regardless, it should be solved. Iowa can be a stronger program than it is.

ISU had two wins in the bag and shot themselves in the foot a games in the past, otherwise the record in the last 10 years isn't so lopsided. You're correct about the home team losing but ISU didn't play Iowa the COVID year and that is a slightly skewed stat because Iowa lost that home game so it was two in a row for ISU in the Jack over 3 years.

Started watching this knowing Iowa State won. It has me scratching my head on how that happened.

Easy to see that the Hawkeyes "entitlement" psychology lead them to big mistakes in second half. These mistakes let Iowa State take advantage in the second half. And the mentality maintained with less then 2 minutes left in the game with ISU in striking distance lead to the Hawkeyes downfall. Moral: Don't be to up on yourself. Someone will knock you off. Having said that.. Glad to see Cyclones celebrating but surrounded by incredulous faced Hack fans after the big FG that lifted the Cyclones over the Hacks.

Iowa's first quarter was a showcase in Big 10 football perfection. That was amazing to watch, but they couldn't keep it going. Cyclones played out of their minds on defense, and while the offense sputtered out a good number of times, they got what they needed for a win. This was a classic.
