I’ve seen others say it and I agree. If you are a Michigan fan who has been toxic to Cade this year, you should be ashamed of yourself. JJ has shown himself to be the better qb. But there is no reason to pile on McNamara. This program would be IN THE PIT if he hadn’t stepped up two years ago and became a leader for this team. He was one of the root causes of the change in culture in Michigan Football. His teammates have been there to support him all this time. He’s a team captain for a reason. He plays his heart out while you sit on a damn couch. Show some respect.

@Blorbus Unimax Yeah getting to debut full start against hawaii doesn't really prove anything. Its not as if Cade wouldnt have beat them either. I feel like JJ will be more dynamic in the long run and he needs to get his start eventually. Its a tough decision but it had to be made and the couch made it. We will see if it turns out to be the right one at the end of the season. Either way I'm rooting for JJ to pop off and best wishes to Cade.

You don't look at the stats during these games but what is shown during play. JJ gives the best chance to win based off of what we have seen. Cade is a decent QB, but when you don't have an Alabama/Ohio State receiver room you play the most talented QB available no matter the experience.

JJ and Davis Warren have also dealt with playing with the 2nd string offense yet look how they played. Cade did amazing last year but don’t make excuses for him this year. Huge Michigan fan been watching them since the Bo Schembechler days. I love watching them play and win but watching a game like this is almost painful not for Michigan but for the other team It actually gets boring after about four or five scores I went to bed at halftime it was such a mismatch. It actually wasn't entertaining If you like watching offensive highlights it was a great game. They probably could have put 80 points on them if they'd wanted to. To tell you the truth I'm really not a fan of the early season in general so many lopsided wins so many mismatch games for all the top teams I know it looks great in the stats and if you're really a team fanatic I guess it's great to watch him whip somebody's butt but in the end it's really not great football when there's virtually no competition.

I’m a Wolverine since birth and again I get to witness Wolverine fans being disrespectful to this athletic program - the fab five, the 2006 football team, the 1976 basketball team, the list goes on. Cade McNamara went 12 - 2. Help deliver the first win against the Buckeyes since 2011 and the first BIG10 championship since 2004 and y’all dog him out. All the best to JJ this season. Stay healthy and strong. This is a case of bigger, faster and stronger taking over as it always does in every sport. But M football doesn’t get to celebrate last year’s accomplishments without Cade. I like both of these QB’s because they will both give M another chance at another championship. I’d not overhype JJ McCarthy yet, the first three teams on Michigans schedule are ALL on ESPN’s bottom 10 list and CBS’s bottom 25. JJ won’t see a defense worth a damn until they go to Iowa. Hawaii is inexperienced. New head coach, new coaching staff. If I remember correctly from the Bows debut against Vanderbilt. The announcer mentioned were 52 new players for Hawaii. That is like half the football team. Most players are local players, plus FCS or power 5 2nd or 3rd string transfers that want to play in higher competition. I don’t think it’s fair they had to face three teams that outmatched them in physical abilities and experience. Hope Michigan doesn’t trip up after facing two low level opponents and get shell shocked when they start playing athletes at their level.

JJ looked good. He needs better competition though to say he’s going to be great but after tonight I saw a guy that could be great. Cade did a great job last season but he is not better than J.J. This is the first time that Michigan has an offense anywhere near as good as Ohio State. They usually have a defense that is as good or better but because their offense has been so inconsistent the last few years they have struggled against better teams. Hawaii is not a good team but seeing the offense working so smoothly is a good sign. Hopefully they can maintain this confidence against better teams.

But it seem like the offensive line didn’t care much to protect when Cade was out there as if they were trying to affect Cade in order to make it the starting role an easy decision. But having JJ who can run and throw affects how defense play the offense compare to Cade who is more of a pocket QB. Unfortunately for Cade, he doesn’t have it like JJ.

Thanks for the bigten championship Cade but it's should be crystal clear who the starter is now. I feel for ya man but at the end of the day we have a super star in the making at the QB position for the first time in what feels like forever. Jim harbaugh needs to develop his qbs on drop back passing. Games like these are perfect for it but his ego wont allow it!! Might even win the big 10 again but will never compete for titles

Cade is a nice hand at QB but unless you have elite nfl talent at all the skill positions and elite defense Case can't win a National Championship... You need a playmaker at qb for when things breakdown in big games on the road or a neutral site
